surprised no one said Entombed Left Hand Path yet. I know it came out in '90 but it's still what I'd classify as old school dm. A lot of early Scandinavian dm was before it turned to gayness.

arhh! thanks for the recall. I totally forgot it. I listen to so much stuff I often have black outs at certain albums.
Left Hand Path is really fuckin awesome. Certainly one of the best DM-albums..

Is the Banished album as good?

I've never heard it but the German band with the same name (Baphomet) actually has some good stuff too. They could be put in the same OSDM group.
