Top ten of 2006 (September)

So it took me a few minutes to dig for my old One Second and i listened to Soul Courageous. Well, i can see what you mean. For me its just 69 Eyes, cause of these "goth"-esque singing style. The vocals alone let me put the band into the gothic (-rock whatever) genre - i never feel like that when it comes to PL (exclude last album...it was so bad i can´t even remember ^^).
Oh and i dont hear My Dying Bride anywhere ...

P.S.: Now i must listen to the whole One Second again....damn you! ^^

It's not September anymore, but I'm still going to list few albums of the year.

1. Katatonia 'TGCD'
2. Dolorian 'Voidwards'
3. Amorphis 'Eclipse'
4. Tenhi 'Maaäet'
5. ShamRain 'Deeper Into the Night' mcd
6. Ajattara 'Äpäre'
7. Shade Empire 'Intoxicate O.S'
8. Drudkh 'Blood In Our Wells'

And now I'm just waiting for the new My Dying Bride.

Agalloch (amazing, despite the weak drum sound)
Communic (if all traditional metal bandfs played so good)
Summoning (another amazing cd)
Dissection (I like it, no one else is doing super melo-death anymore)
Drudkh (bleak and atmospheric black, love it)
Insomnium (another excellent offering)
Korpiklaani (a bunch of fun well written songs)
Ahab (a surprising funeral doom cd, great stuff)
Saturnus

Dissapointed by
My Dying bride (easily their worst album)
Moonspell (It's either feast or famine with moonspell, this time it sounds like the band are starving for ideas)
Satyricon (wow, three motorhead chords per song! frost must be bored)

really? i think it's one of their better ones, at least on par with 'Dreadful Hours' and surely better than 'Songs Of Darkness', 'TLATEOTW' or 'Like Gods Of The Sun'. of course i don't expect them to ever reach 'Turn Loose The Swans', this one is monumental...
