Are their older albums really worth checking out? I LOVE Shogun if thats makes any difference....

Ember To Inferno and Ascendancy are amazing albums, I would recommend them, I'd say avoid The Crusade (not because I believe it is a bad album but because it is a fall from grace )

Trivium is a collective noun, so is DOES work

We're talking about their music, not about the people in the band, so I think "Trivium is" would be the correct one, but what do I know

I like two or three songs from them, the rest is pretty "meh".

I'd like to think so, to me it depends on what case the collective noun is being used in.

"The K family is big"

"The K family are a bunch of nutjobs"

"The K family is full of people with Cherokee blood"

"The United States is a decent country to live in"

"The United States is made of many cultures"
