They're playing with Amon Amarth and CoBoredom in November (what a month!!!!!!!!) and I'm just curious for some opinions on them, or what albums they have that are good. Interested to check them out before I go.

Most people here will pan them. I, for one, can't say. But, I know dill_the_devil is a fan and even interviewed them for UM. So...I am not much help at all.

They are one of those bands that wears cool Tshirts to try to get metal-cred.

EDIT: (which isn't bad in its self, but they don't play Metal like they rep.)

Metalcore, crappy and generic hardcore with some harmonies.

They aren't worth your time unless you're into this sort of thing, but fret not- I'm also going to this show for the sole purpose of seeing Amon Amarth. We arrive late and leave early.

Fuck Children of Bodom, I just wanted to say that.

Fun fact: Aegrimonia and Wind Through the Trees' drummer Chris is thanked in the credits of their debut full-length.

yeah, i'm going for Amon Amarth as well. When I sent the email to the local metal shop (they're doing ticket packs, and are willing to customize) It was called the Amon Amarth and Bo(re)dom show.

They view themselves as a Metal band. Most on this forum would disagree. They tend to walk the line between Metal and NuMetal. They do solo, and the clean vocals they do, they do well. They have a couple really catchy songs. I saw them with Iced Earth and thought they were solid live.

I like 'em. Sounds to me like a pretty even mix of eighties thrash a la Megadeth, Gothenburg-style melo-death, and the best parts of modern metalcore. Seen 'em twice (once at Download festival, once on the Road Rage tour) and been sufficiently impressed each time. There are two albums out, Ember To Inferno and Ascendancy - Ascendancy's probably the one to go for. Try downloading 'Dying In Your Arms' for their most saccharine emo-esque moment, and if you can still stomach them after that, try 'Like Light To Flies' for more melo-death stylee stuff, and you've got a fair idea of what you're getting.
