My reasons for disliking Trivium.

Abysmal vocals. I don't like their old shout style or their new Hetfield style.

Boring music. The only thing that stood out was how annoyingly loud the drums were.

I do find it funny that a band most of you hate gets more posts than most other threads. Espicially seeing that this thread has been here a day or so.

However on Trivium its pretty clear Heafy cant sing for shit. But the music can be pretty good.

The band is talentless, and compared to the rest of the metal genre, look and sound like children playing for the first time.

Now THAT is a ludicrous, stubborn statement. You can not like them all you want...but to say that they are talentless and suck at playing their instruments is just plain dumb.

That's because people in general would rather spend time tearing shit down just because they don't like it instead of pushing what they do like.

I'm not a big Trivium fan myself...there are plenty of Metal bands people like that I just don't like...but blind hatred of something just because its getting attention and one happens to just not like is lame. I'm not a fan of Danzig, but I don't think he's a talentless loser....I just am not into what he does.

One thing that bugs me about Trivium, and it's not their fault, is that they were dubbed a year or two ago as "The Saviors of Metal". I loathe that term. The only thing metal needs saving from is crap like Trivium. This has recently happened to Gojira and I really dislike them now.

For me labels on bands mean nothing. People need to stop listening to this. If you like the music fine. If a bands been dubbed 'the gayest band on the planet' but you still like them, good for you. Who cares what anyone else thinks. I have to put up with this all the time with Hair metal. Dicks come up to me saying 'Hey dude, are you a women' all the time, but I dont give a shit. Get some balls.

I don't mind the odd Trivium track or two. Sure, they aren't re-inventing the wheel, but I can dig the neo-swansong era Carcassisms on such tracks as "A Gunshot to the head of trepidation".

The wearing of old maiden and megadeth T's, while clearly knowing little of their output is, however, ghey.

Agreed, and Gunshot to the Head of Trepidation is a pretty good song. Most of their shit sucks hairy flying monkey balls but they pull out a decent track once in a while.

Ignore the haters, unless they can give you a decent reason why they don't like the band other than that they're popular or "Hot Topic"-ish. Their opinion is crap otherwise.

I love the new Trivium album. I'm not so familiar with the older albums from them but the new one ranked in my top 5 for last year. Great Metal album with some killer riffs/solos/arrangements etc. - search the forum for "trivium" and we had a thread about it a few months back.

I'll be interested to see what they release with their next album, see if they continue to evolve more or not.

I ignored them. I think with my own mind. I like them, that's enough.

Fact? They can obviously play thier instruments very well. That fact speaks for itslef whether one likes the output of those instruments or not. The riffs, the harmonies, the leads, the drums are all very well executed. Those facts are obvious.

What I said was "dumb" was the assertion that they are devoid of any musical talent. Talk about a lack of facts. They obviously HAVE musical talent whether one likes their music or not.

If I want to listen to thrash I will listen destruction,kreator and sodom,etc... Do people think that just because they think some new band has thrash riffs everyone is going to jump on it when the band is clearly an emo metalcore band ?

I did not like Trivium at first and never will and I'm not going to check out their new albums because they or people think they are starting to get it right. that's ridiculous

"Playing your instruments very well" and have well executed ideas, means absolutely nothing.

They obviously HAVE musical talent whether one likes their music or not.

If they had talent, they would write a good and intense riff or melody for a change, not just re-write riffs and melodies of others.
