Typical posting in a Royal Carnage thread

Umm, I haven't actually seen any criticism of Graveland here, though I don't think black metal is really the thing among the primary contributors.

I see you felt compelled enough to designate an entire thread just for that. I also don't think that's entirely "typical" of Royal Carnage to begin with, but okay.

Hip Hop is NS, and we all know what the "N" stands for.
I don't get this....maybe it is some defensive variant of an argument that pops up more often than not when people begin to question the integrity of NSBM or racist black metal.

For the record, I do not like hip hop, rap, trance, electronica, hyphy, crunk or any of that bullshit and there is not a single CD of these genres in my collection, but I do not get all fucking riled up about it as some people do (there is a serious issue related to metal that is related to rap that I think was very bad at one point in history and the bumper stickers reading "Get your rap out of my metal" were called for, but it is not really relevant to the subject at hand). There is a lot a bullshit out there in the world of rap and some of it I find to be distasteful and harmful in a slightly different way than people who admire and espouse ideologies associated with mass murder, genocide and pro-slavery (humanity not just the Antebellum South variety) ideas.

Maybe you are just being "dopey" for the sake of it, but too many times (most recently with the whole "Ebay banning black metal scare") people say "well if people are going to target and lash out at NSBM and racist metal, why don't they go after the hip hop crowd advocating violence, crime and misogynists."

Reminds me of a kid on a playground saying "there are other people doing the same thing and they're not getting in any trouble." People need to not deflect blame and point fingers elsewhere, but take responsibility for their own actions and ideas or those they condone and support by proxy.

As long as we are having a “Crisis on Infinite Messageboards” moment…..

I don't get it... he might say that his band isn't NS, but it totally is. You can buy shirts that have a runic message on them that used to be a banner on his website. Moose and I translated it one time and it says "White Beast of Wotan"!
Exactly. This is the one facet of a lot of NSBM that makes it not metal in my book. Metal is about having your balls out on the table in full view and sticking to your guns, not creeping around behind trees in the pale moonlight and secretly espousing your views and then denying them when someone asks about them. Seen this shit before….A band gets all indignant about being asked about being NS, racist or fascist and acts like they are the victim of a PC Gestapo when anyone with a lick of sense in their head can see through them looking down at their desk like a child and mumbling something about being misunderstood.

It is crazy that the posting of that execrable Cheese Metal article over there led to this angle emerging. :)

And what issues does it touch on? The sexual insecurities of death metal fans?
Ha! Another time, another place and part of a larger project.....

But it is a bit strange to see you exploiting this angle.

Haven't I seen you out in the Internet ether posting a ribbon commemorating the death of Darrell Abbott that could be assailed with the same argument.

I could be mistaken, though. :)

The Dime tribute is at least accurate. The shots taken at Euronymous in that little parody are demonstrably false.

This is true to a certain extent, but I think it depends on how you are reading it. It is not something that is to be taken in all at once. Each component is linked to one another, but they are working on separate levels which reinforce one another.

Euronymous is the central character here for what has been done in his name and his "no mosh, no core, no fun" attitude.

I'm aware of that. But blaming Euronymous for mesh shirts in 'black metal' is like blaming Graveland for all the Che Guevara schwag out there.

...still a million times better than the typical posting in an Encyclopaedia Metallum thread.

Ah, you guys have found all your Easter eggs at last and are back on track?

I find Encyclopedia a bit valuable when it comes to totally underground demo bands of old, which are also listed. I don't care for their forum threads. Did not know they have one, haha...
