Anyone know of any kick ass un-signed local bands in your area? In California my favorite is 'Dead Elizabeth', and 'Dead to Fall' comes a close second. (Unfortunately they are not from California.) I'm trying to expand more horizen by checking out more non-signed bands, and I don't know where to look since my city is lacking good 'Metal' bands.

Fast and hard show no mercy for these men
The vermin of christ, prophets of lies and their disciples
Seek them out, hunt them down
Brake their spirits, crush their hearts
Not even death will set them free from this pain

i know a pretty good unsigned band from germany, well i think they're unsigned :p, its called Ancient Existence, i believe its melo-death and if i had money, i'd produce 'em :p

haha wasnt directed at you. Scott Burns was a famous producer of many Floridian Death metal bands that are still hailed today (napalm death, obituary)
Its a jokes used from before the 90's, to say that all death metal came from florida, and that all crust/grind came from sweden. We all know thats not true these days.

this is the part where you reply "Feraliminal, 1991 called and wants it broad generalizations back."

we don't have a lot of unsigned bands in the UK per-say but thereare some minor lable bands thatare pretty damn amazing. Detrimentum, The Enchanted, Reign of Erebus, Thus Defiled (make marduk look like kids in terms of speed and agression but they're more evil than any kvlt bolloks), Cruel Humanity, Sarpetium, Chaos Incarcerated, Incarnate and Seranadeare worth checking out. http://www.metal-archives.com just check there for them 'cos I can't be bothered to do all the links

it was damn hard to resist!

We got ( or had ) a band here in mid michigan that was badass as hell. Beastiary - They were melodic deathmetal and had been together for quite some time, but I heard they apparently they broke up, which sucks. But I got their CD first, so I'm happy.

an opportunity to whore my band has arrived haha... My band, Hejira, isn't signed. We're from southern california. I dont really know how to describe us because every song is different, but the two songs on our site are pretty thrashy. The other song on our demo is a lot more melodic though. Anyways, check us out at http://www.hejiraband.com Let me know what you think.

its... decent.... sounds just like every other thrash blended band in the world though. try making something more original? thats just my opinion =\
still sounds kinda good though... its just nothing spectacular at all realy.

I usually don't know when bands are unsigned, but i can name some from Iceland. Like Sólstafir(www.solstafir.com) are unsigned and are looking, they were black metal once but are just epic-metal now i think. They recently gave out a promo named ,,promo 2004", you can listen to it here

as Baletempest said previously, you can check if a band is signed or not on www.metal-archives.com, practically all bands are in the archives and the info is usually at date.

My fellow countryman of Theudho is cult underground from Flanders check him out http://www.theudho.com/ for all fans of burzrum and bathory.
Great stuff Belgar!

I am waiting to recieve my order from Lugburz of the new Theudho CD and the Garmenhord / Wapenspraak & Drinkgelag split CD. Should be here in a few days.

I have two of the other Theduho CDs and both the Garmenhord and W&D demos, great stuff!

Indeed, great stuff. J.S. is mailing me the shirt and cd, Wapenspraak and Garmenhord are 2 great bands as well. Got the chance to drink up with them this summer at a festival.
You should heck out Kludde and get their cd and the split cd. They are one of the best Belgian BM to have come out of Flanders in years as well as Creature.

I agree but I'll be a bit nicer, because it's hard to be original. The guitarist(s) have some nice skill though. Very together music-wise although at times I find the vocals a littler overpowering. I don't quite know if the voclal style fits the music best, or it could just be the recording. Try tweaking the vocals a bit or try to have your singer work on widening his range a bit, especially the lower end I think that would help the most.
