With Oden On Our Side - Lyrics!

If you listen closely i"m pretty sure the line is wolf's jaw on my head, at least thats my interpretation:)

Over the bridge, "all through" the night,
Hel is getting near.
There are the gates, towering high,
"Afflicting" me with fear.

In her hall "at" the honour seat,
A brother sits in pain.
Pale and tortured by the "Greeks",
Bound by invisible frozen chains.

Positive about the first two corrections, pretty sure about the third and fourth.

Darkness flees the rising sun,
The village lies ahead.
It will awake to a new day soon,
Soon they'll all be dead.
We came in "cover" of moonless night,
Fifty "men" at arms.
Now at first morning light,
The church bell sounds the alarm.

The day "draws" to a end,
The night comes dark and cold.
We return to our ships,
With silver, slaves and gold.
We gave them agony, as they fell and died,
The Gods have granted victory,
For our sacrifice.

Pretty sure about these corrections.

With Oden On Our Side

Finally the storm arrives,
"Our wait is at an end."
Under dark winter skies,
We make our final stand.

Our hearts "are full" of pounding rage,
Our minds hard as steel.
Right before the dying day,
We will have you down.

Futile to resist!
"You know why we have come!"
Futile to resist!
The battle is "already" won!

Futile to resist!
"You know why we have come!"
Futile to resist!
The battle is won!

Under The Northern Star

The cold piercing autumn breeze,
Fills the longships sail.
Soon the lakes and seas will freeze,
And snow will lay its "veil".

Many years we have been away,
Many oceans we have roamed.
Now the "North" star guides us on our way,
As we are heading home.

The many hardships we've endured that brought us rich rewards,
Now the "North" star guides us home,
With cargo full of gold.

Many friends died on the way,
Only few of us survived.
But I would gladly trade "them" place,
In Odens hall up high.

Cry Of The Blackbirds

The enemy are in disarray,
Like a cowardice they run
Send them to their final graves
Don't spare anyone
Kill the wounded by order of
See the pain in their eyes

Over the field and fear the sound
As we hear the ravens cry

Yea... Don't quote me on these it's increadibly rough i was just trying to establish a bit more of a base so someone else might be able to translate them properly.

Prediction Of Warfare
Norway just a bed in the east,
Our journey had begun.
Helpfull winds gave us our speed,
Under a warming sun.

Heading to the emerald land,
A fleet of 50 ships,
A army of 2000 men, led by the king,

Army arising, dark and ferous,
Horror across the black roads.
As the night rolled in over us,
We felt the wrath of the storm.

Ready to strike,
With swords in our hands.
The struggle with heart,
The Irish fell to our wrath.
Fought for his life,
The king escaped.
With fury divine,
King Olav threw his sword

Same as the last post don't quote me on these but some of them sound pretty good.

Oh yea and it is threw because hes throwing his sword down out of anger and frustration at the loss of his people, his kingdom, his honour, and his power.

In Hermod's Ride To Hel:

Pale and tortured by the [something like "..eeks"]

Sounds funny, but I hear he growls: Greeks.

Could there be any historical connection? I'm not good in Viking history.

These lyrics are very good but I can see some fault.

For '' Gods Of War Arise ''

Fire sweeps their homes
They feel the dragon's breath
Consuming and destructive flames
Agonising death

I can hear : Consuming and despite the flames

For '' Hermods Ride To Hell ''

In her hall at the honour seat
My brother sits in pain
Pale and tortured by the [something like "..eeks"]
Bound by invisible frozen chains

The word is : Greeks or Greats

Well I got interested myself about Hermod and Hel, heres a brief overview.

Hermod is the son of Odin (ha Amon can't spell) and he is sent to Hel (The Norse mythology underworld, and coincidently the name of the Godess who rules it) to bring back his brother Baldr who was killed and sent there, Thats what the song is about.

Thus The Last part of the song

[Hermod:]
I am bound to bring him back with me!
The whole world mourns his death!
Please set my brother free!
Give him back his friend!

[Hel:] (Johan with the cool voice effect XD)
If its true, what you say to me
That the whole world mourns his death
If the whole world will weep, I will give him back his life!

From what I have disovered, Greece seems to have no connection to it besides it being similar to Hades and the River Styx.

And I think he may have said "pale and tortured by the creeks" because according to myth - "The doors of the hall are said to be set in the south, away from Asgard which lies to the north. The hall is surrounded by a river called Gjoll, which is freezing cold and has knives flowing in it."

This is referring to the gates described in the song and the hall where Hel is to be found

Hermod's Ride:

It really, really does sound like Greeks. It just doesn't make sense though.

Only other suggestion I had on the song is that "Please set brother free" could also be "Please set Baldr free". Either one would make sense in the context of the song, and listening to it repeatedly, it could go either way IMO.

Thanks for the lyrics! Some things I disagree, though:

My weapon in his fist
I hear clearly "My weapon hit him first" (and has more sense)

Hear the thunder champion ride
As §anctu§ told, I also hear "Hear the thunder chariot ride"

Throw your swords to (the) sky
"Draw your swords to strike" (also has more sense than throwing your sword in the middle of the battle)

Valhall Awaits
I hear the sound of wood that breaks
A sword cuts through my shield

Sword in my hand an axe on my side (not sure about his correction)

Runes to my Memory
Deep in the land of the runes. (i think)

Asator:
Fire! burning in his eyes
Fire! his head explodes, see the lightning strike
Fire! burning in his eyes
Fire! his head explodes, see the lightning strike

Sound of thunder!
(i think)
Makes more sense, as Asator = Thor = thundergod and not son of thunder. If i'm informed correctly.

More later :)
