no actually its a song. "ninefeetunderground" was an epic track by the band Caravan back in the early 70s. definitely worth checking out...one of my all time favorite songs. can be found on "in the land of grey and pink" album.

Lord Hypnos?

By the way, i was just looking through the rare 70's prog thread (which i should have bumped, because it would save people time asking you for recommendations all the time) and i've determined that you can't possibily exist. You must be some sort of robot because i don't even know how it's physically possible to hear all the music that you have enough to form an opinion about it. I'm obviously joking, but that thread contained an insane amount of bands and that's just prog! I still don't know how you've done it.

In metal i think the best australia has to offer is Psycroptic, Vanishing Point, Alarum, Black Majesty, The Eternal, Mournful Congregation, hmm.. probably some others i'm forgetting, but those are the main ones i consider 'world class'. I love Karnivool too, but they're more commercial rock/metal.

I think that The Eternal got a bit name with the current HIM & Opeth gigs. Anyway, it's always easy to check them out at http://www.myspace.com/theeternalband
And the aussies can finally get their CD's a bit easier as Modern Invasion started to distribute their CD's.

Outside Australia... Mar De Grises and Disillusion arent exactly unknown, but i dont often seem them mentioned.

Mar De Grises is really doing their own thing, but due to what ever reasons they have been keeping pretty low profile when it comes to media/expo. Nor it doesn't help that they update their website once a year.. http://www.mardegrises.com

RE: Mithotyn because i've only met one person whose heard of them. I haven't met a single person who actually listens to them. and their CDs/merch is pretty hard to get.

Their 1st two albums very pretty nice, the 3rd wasn't so excellent in my opinion. Their albums are pretty easy to find, at least in Europe.

Out of other bands, there is PANTHEIST, an epic funeral doom outfit from London, UK. Two albums and one MCD out. Check them out @ http://www.myspace.com/pantheistuk
