White Noise Productions and Katzenjammer Records proudly present:

The Wood of Suicides album launch at the Esplanade Hotel's Gershwin Room.

After many months of anticipation, the long-awaited debut opus of Victorian Blackened Doom Metal band Wood of Suicides has been released nationally through Katzenjammer Records.

With respect to this, Wood of Suicides will performing works from their self-titled release with support from two of Melbourne’s most promising new artists at the Esplanade Hotel’s Gershwin Room, Thursday evening the 11th of March.

Described as ‘a subtle and unusual form of brutality, that creates a highly disturbing atmosphere’, Wood of Suicides is a project surrounded by an air of mystery, with a limited back catalogue of live performances, including Sydney’s Metal on Metal festival in 2009.

The disc, containing three pieces of harrowing Doom Metal will be available on the night, and with support from Death-Doom band Okera and Rainshadow, this is set to be a benchmark for Australian Heavy Metal events for 2010 and a night not to be missed by fans of the dark, disturbing and confronting.

Metal Obsession presents:

In Malice’s Wake
Anno Domini
A Million Dead Birds Laughing
Obsidieth
Okera

July 9th @ Central Club, Richmond.
Doors at 7:30pm, $15 entry.

Death doom band Okera, who are quickly becoming a local favourite with only a few shows under their belt, will be kicking off the night on the strongest note possible; not a band that any Opeth fans will want to miss. Obsidieth will be bringing a touch of folk to the lineup with their keyboard-heavy style of melodic death metal, while A Million Dead Birds Laughing will kick things up a notch with their unique, quirky blend of grind and death. Sydney’s Anno Domini will make their first trek down south to launch their massive new album ‘Atrocities’ with equal parts brutality and atmosphere, and In Malice’s Wake (quite easily one of the top thrash bands in the country) are sure to top things off in the awesome form fans have come to expect from their live show.

WELKIN ENTERTAINMENT PRESENTS

TRIPLE ALBUM LAUNCH featuring

PARADIGM
IGNITE THE IBEX
EYE OF THE ENEMY

with
Alice Through The Windshield Glass

CDlaunchx3.jpg

Sydney progressive death metal band, PARADIGM will be launching their debut album ‘Symmetry (In)Sanity’ on the night. Mixed by jENK at L.A. Studio’s metalobsession.net recently described the album saying, "...guitar work that ranges from soul-wrenchingly beautiful to jaw-droppingly fast. It is a roller coaster ride of irresistible head-banging, heart stopping melodic feel and mind blowing musicianship, all blended together in a faultless mix. I should probably point out that over the several bands and albums that I have reviewed to date, Symmetry (In)Sanity has received the highest rating so far. I do not give numbers this high lightly. 9/10" - MetalObsession.net.

One of Australia's most promising technical death metal acts, IGNITE THE IBEX, will be launching their "self titled" album on the night. The self-produced and released album has set the band a high benchmark early in their career with high quality songs and flawless musicianship. The album is filled from start to finish with a great deal of intensity, blending technicality, groove and blasts with no limits. The pre-release album tracks posted online have had very positive response, with the band being compared to greats such as Meshuggah, Ion Dissonance and Devolved.

With a release date set for June 25 through Just Say Rock Records, Melbourne’s EYE OF THE ENEMY are finally set to unleash their debut album ‘Weight Of Redemption’, and along with it, announce themselves to the world in a big way. ‘Weight of Redemption’ is undoubtedly one of the most exciting, and devastatingly powerful albums to be released in 2010. Mastered in Sweden by Plec @ The Panic Room (Scar Symmetry), it features soaring melodic, technical guitar work, breakneck riffing, pounding bass, thundering power drumming, and sensational modern vocals by Julian Detar. Having already supported international artists such as Amon Amarth, Cradle of Filth, Malevolent Creation, and scored a coveted slot on ‘Screamfest’, all in 2009, Eye Of The Enemy are now touring in support of the release of their debut album. Do not miss this amazing live band!
Opening on the night will be brutal tech death metallers ALICE THROUGH THE WINDSHIELD GLASS.

Please check out the Myspace pages (see links below) of the 3 album launch bands for samples of songs from their new albums, all of which will be available for purchase at the show! Make sure to mark down July 9 in your calendar, as with three top class new Australian metal bands launching new albums, this will definitely be one to remember.

ELEVENTH HE REACHES LONDON hail from Perth, Western Australia; a vast area of land separated from the rest of the country by an expanse of desert. This isolation has afforded Eleventh the luxury of being able to grow organically, independent of the clichés and trends often present in larger communities. The result is a band that draws on inspiration from all corners to create an original, dynamic sound whose whole is far greater than the sum of its parts.

After first taking to the stage in 2003, releasing a sought-after demo as well as appearing on numerous compilations, Eleventh self-released their debut album in December 2005. “The Good Fight For Harmony” received acclaim throughout the world, sat atop of the local charts for several months, and sold out of its first pressing within 8 weeks of release.

Eleventh’s sophomore effort “Hollow Be My Name” was released on Good Cop Bad Cop Records in 2009 to critical acclaim. Scores of reviews were written praising the album, which experiments with potent, hateful lyricism and bleak, heavy soundscapes, contrasted with melodic beauty. There was no doubt that Eleventh had released their finest work when the album appeared in Top 10 lists for 2009 across the world.

Throughout their career, Eleventh He Reaches London have supported Coheed and Cambria, Cult of Luna, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge, ISIS, Against Me! and Les Savy Fav, and played the In The Pines, Taste of Chaos and Soundwave festivals, alongside bands such as The Offspring, Incubus, Killswitch Engage, Rise Against and The Used. Along the way, the band has won three West Australian Music Industry Association (WAMi) Awards from seven nominations, and received considerable radio airplay across Australia.

In 2010, Eleventh have continued to write the follow up to “Hollow Be My Name”, venturing even deeper into the sonic abyss and presenting new material to a select few shows in Perth. Eleventh’s 2010 national tour will see the band in Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth, performing much loved favourites from their first two albums as well as showcasing some new material.
