Upcoming Sneap Projects

Well, Arch Enemy is re-recording their old catalogue, Black Earth, Stigmata & Burning Bridges.
They're re-recording because the young fan-base they have now don't know those albums, and they want Angela on vocals, so they can play those songs now also again at live concerts.

But Nordstrom did those, but with what Nordstrom brings out now, I really hope he doesn't(!), and hope the flag will be handed to Andy..

Anyone heard the new(ish) Firewind? I believe that was Mr Nordstrom, and it sounds really good.
It makes me think the Arch Enemy/ DT productions were either a band decision or his decision to not sound exactly like their older material.

In my honest opinion nordstrom is excellent at mixing things when they're well-recorded. I wouldn't pick him to save a botched recording job.

I've got plenty of album that really have the most awesome sound that came out of Nordstrom's studio, so there's no nordstrom hate with me.
It's just that I personally really dislike the "In Sorte" sound..same goes for Rise of the Tyrant. It just feels like since the studio switch also a lot in his productions changed.

Exodus are re-recording bonded in blood- i wouldn't be surprised if andy was doing it- they seem to all love working together

That is a HORRIBLE idea. They should just re-release those records with some extra live tracks or old DVD footage or something. Johan's vocals were badass on those records. I don't personally think they should've replaced him. I like his vox WAY better than Angela's. He is a far more unique vocalist. Johan gave AE a sound that was all their own. They threw that out the window when they hired Angela. I always check out their albums when they come out, but I haven't found a reason to buy one since Burning Bridges.

Why all the Nordstrom hate? I love "In Sorte Diaboli," and who can fault the immortal "Clayman?"

Yeah... I think "In Sorte..." is awesome! It's fucking HUGE. "Clayman" is badass as well, but I have always been a bigger fan of "Colony". I don't think Nordstrom has "lost his touch" or anything like that. Hell, I still think that the Darkest Hour record he did, "Sadist Nation" was a KILLER production.

Well, here's what he's doing now...as for next?

CRADLE OF FILTH Frontman Checks In From the Studio - June 24, 2008

CRADLE OF FILTH frontman Dani "Filth" Davey has posted an update from producer Andy Sneap's Backstage recording studio in Derbyshire, England where the band is working on its new album, due later in the year via Roadrunner Records. An excerpt follows.

"Everything else recording-wise has been finished bar vocals for two songs that will undoubtedly see the light of day far after the album's release (possibly on film soundtracks which always seem to require non-album tracks). This also includes the addition of all-female choir sections and an additional Swedish male opera singer, as well as my daughter Luna contributing poetical lines to the song 'Darkness Incarnate'.

"The mix is well on its way toward completion. We'll finish one by the end of this week and then retire our separate ways for a well-deserved week at home, the premise being to return a week later to re-evaluate and complete it fully (with the intermittent narrative being not-so-lightly sprinkled on the top — well, it is 'Candyman' voicing it after all).

"Now comes the time of video conceptualising and rehearsals, artwork assembly and heavy press schedules in Europe and America, working our arses off to bring the braying beast to life. Phew! No rest for the wicked, I say."

I know that during the tracking of the new Cradle album he left momentary for few US shows with Sabbat. Scott Atkins from GRINDSTONE STUDIO (Sylosis first album producer) tracked the guitars at backstage productions.

the remixing and remastering of Anvil Bitch's "Rise to Offend." I can't back that up though.

What?

I'm calling Chuck tonight to ask about this. I mean, they JUST did their 1st Dominance reunion gig like last month or something ... unless somehow Lance has been in contact with Andy. Where did you hear this?
