US Housing Market Faggotry

Aye.

Context just so this isnt lost on anyone. This is the intersection of a heavily overpriced part of LA that hipsters long for. Think Williamsburg part of Brooklyn, but in LA.

Hipsters love this area as well as Echo Park & Silver Lake. Skidshacks easily crack a mil. Absolute shit hole.

That is wild--even in the most hipstery of hipster blocks in brooklyn, you would never see anything like that in a random park (the only thing I could even think of that was like that was in lower manhattan during owm)--Parts of California really seem to be :err: --

Tent Cities are kind of a west coast thing, right? They are fucking everywhere out here, and I know areas around Seattle have large populations in some (we're talking 3,000 people).

Maybe it's the weather?!

I haven't done enough specific reading on it, but it must be a mix of the weather, specific dynamics of the homeless there, specific local politicians and the kind of progressiveness that has only taken hold in certain specific places in the west/northwest cities. Our homeless situation is completely fucked here too, it just manifests itself differently. When I was regularly taking the subway 2-3 years ago, there were rare situations where half a subway car was converted into a "tent" for 1-2 homeless and their carts and belonging.

The last tent city in nyc was during the great depression in central park (hoovervilles)

One of the tent cities by me is behind the local Wal-mart (shocking, I know), and there is one guy there that has a cat on a leash. The cat rides on his shoulder, like a pirate's parrot.

I used to have a pretty good relationship with some of the homeless by an old practice space. We'd show up to rehearsal and chat with them before rockin' out. Two of them anyhow. The third guy wasn't very friendly, and avoided us. Someone crapped at our door one day (probably that guy) and so we named the place Poop Alley.

That building was later condemned but we kept rehearsing there for 6 months. "Just pay the electric bill and the city won't give you any problems. At least until the bulldozers eventually show up."

I used to be pretty friendly with a homeless dude in Providence who always walked the beat on North Main St. I forgot his actual name but "my friends call me Ish-Ish." So I know him as Ish-Ish. Haven't seen him in many years. He probably kicked the bucket a while back. That was back when we found a homeless dude who died in our dumpster at work as well.

I'm usually very friendly with the homeless peeps that I encounter walking around and freely toss them a ruble or two. The ones that hang out at nearly every stop light/stop sign nowadays though I tend to avoid eye contact. lol

We have pockets here and there with a few tents and shanties. I always get a bunch of Starbucks gift cards for Christmas (dunno why, I guess it's just assumed everyone likes coffee?). But I always try to keep one or two of those on me to give to a homeless person asking for money or food. I'm sure they appreciate that at Starbucks lol.

New Homeless Village in the favela of my dismay. How much do each one of these "tuff" sheds cost tax payers? 130k a pop. :erk:

North Hollywood is an utter shithole, so this doesnt bother me too much aside from the exorbitant price tag. Nevertheless these tuff sheds are going to get wrecked in record time. 30k in materials if im being generous. Probably some back end deals so fat cats get even fatter. Make no mistake. Only 39 made after a couple years on an increased tax hike to pay for this nonsense. Yea 39 sheds will solve the Tsunami of trash I wade through on my commute. GTFOORC.

Californians....

Instead of giving shit away for free (SEE: taxpayers), why don't they put that effort in to getting these people a job?

And isn't there a Cali city giving $500 a month to poor families of all races except Caucasians? I thought I read that somewhere. Could be wrong, though.

I wouldnt be surprised. Havent followed local politics in a long ass time. I live in a dystopia nightmare where the citizenry always cast blame at everything except the sleazy politicians at the helm. Then these same sheep move to red states and turn into another shithole. Rinse and Repeat.

A sales tax of .25 was instituted by a overwhelmimg 2/3rds of lemmings in 2017 to pay for the 64sq ft pimp pads. A 96 square foot Tuff shed goes for 3800, and theyre equally as nice as this shit. Where is all this money going pray tell? Conservatively, the sales tax equates to 355mil in revenue a year. Tax is for 10 years.

All that revenue can build 27000 of these pads at the end of this period AT 130k. Only 39 have been built in 4 fucking years? This city is a fooqin joke. Im sure Pelosi, Garcetti, Feinstein, Gruesome Newsom, all siphoning a little bit of head off this frothy cerveza.
