, I didn't think he was an asshole for changing his mind, I think I'd rather hang out with Fenriz or Ihsahn than Varg.
^I read that interview and he doesn't seem like the nicest guy to be around, I don' see what's so cool about hating people because of their race and calling something "my pals music"
that interview said:What are your thoughts on the Negroid race?
Well, let's not waste any time thinking about the Negro races.

So it isn't about race, exactly, though it is to an extent. The black race does not belong within white society, simple; within it they are idiots, not because their race is such on its own, just that within this society they are dominated and enslaved even if they aren't truly "slaves." They are enslaved in such a way that causes them to forsake all their true heritage, and replace it with a shallow and pathetic one which is a shitty collection of bits of white tradition. They become valueless idiots, the black people as a whole, due to race, but not necessarily due to the qualities of their own -- this does not change the fact of their moronic and destructive presence.
I'm pretty sure they didn't write the book with your fervent approval in mind.
Way to completley misread what Varg said. His whole point was that "my pals" and their culture are inferior (and, yes, he does mean black people in general. Hence "...Even bush-my pals can be more sensible and constructive, and deeper than that..."), and that the subculture attached to metal music is just as bad or worse.
He's not saying "I think the culture of blacks- in the westen world- is shallow because their culture is incompatible with ours". He is saying "my pals culture is inferior, and metal subculture is no better".
PS: The word "my pals" refers to black people. Not the culture of blacks outside of Africa.
Didn't say they wrote it with my approval in mind... just said it is what made the book boring... the religious and political talk in the book... no book is written with anyone's approval in mind really... the authors write what they want regardless...
