Watershed: Opeth's Most Rhythmically Impressive Album?

I am not that impressed with Axe. Hes a fantastic drummer, sure but I feel his work on watershed (especially TLE) is way to flashy. Alot of the fills I fell dont fit in well or dont flow nicely with the music. Almost to the point that its obnoxious to listen to, it kills The Lotus Eater for me. I really dont care much for that song. On other songs its not to bad, and some its quiet fitting but not TLE.

I completely disagree. The main reason I prefer Axe is because he's a straight-to-the-point player who doesn't fuck around. Lopez was amazing when it came to clean parts and groove oriented songs. However, when I think of the beginning of Heir Apparent, I can't imagine Lopez playing on it at all because it would be too riddled with fills and cymbal hits and snare rolls, etc. etc. while Axe's playing is to the point, restrained, but still fucking brutal.
