The Swedish kings of melodic Death Metal return for another headlining tour all over Europe. We Are The Void is now available as tour edition that features rare & previously unreleased songs and videos, as well as new artwork by guitarist Niklas Sundin and liner notes by singer Mikael Stanne. (2011)

----

I'll obviously buy it, but there aren't really any extra tracks. Basically the same as the Fiction Expanded Edition, a cash-in by CM; I'll just get it for Niklas' art. (Which I hope won't be the same as in Fiction Expanded hahaha.)

Edit 01:
Liner notes should be interesting too.

Edit 02:

I REALLY hope the cover was changed!!!

Hmmm... I think the bonus DVD will contain the so-called "Zero Distance" project. Maybe it will be a short movie or an animation.

Just my guess ;)

Well, the new artwork is kind of weird ;)

And it's similar to what the Zero Distance trailer contained.

The new artwork is awesome as shit. Sometimes Niklas' visual work is too abstract for me to get into (I'm a concrete type of guy). The distorted features and slight asymmetry of the pattern here, though, adds a really cool layer to the shape of a human face. Notably, it is a mask without a person inside. Because the person is the void! Also, for those of you following along at home, look at the shell that is he! Empty, fragile, weak.

DID EVERYONE ALSO NOTICE THAT THERE IS A SONG TITLED "ZERO DISTANCE" ON THAT TRACKLIST? THIS IS PROBABLY WHAT THAT WAS ALL ABOUT and I am very excited to hear even more new DT.

I LOVE this new artwork! It's so, so much better than the original!

Yes! This is a very concrete piece of work, the mask worn by the Void; it has a very Goth feeling to it, reminds me of Lacrimosa haha. I really like the background too, looks like a forest to me, or more like a swamp. Love it.

Yeaaaah! Thanks for posting on my FB!
Here's another link (Metal Hammer sucks and the video takes a while to load):

EDIT 02:

I absolutely love this song. And the video. Oh my, such brilliant editing. Did you notice how the tattoos on Mikael's neck change?
IMO this track should've been included in the original release haha, but oh well I guess they wanted to keep it for later. Really excited about this, will get the European edition! (Obviously.)

"Zero Distance" is only one of the rarities included in "We Are The Void (Tour Edition)". Niklas Sundin explains, "'Zero Distance' was recorded at the same time as the 'We Are The Void' album, but due to its different nature we decided to keep it for later use. The time is now right to unveil the song, as well as the other rare/bonus material recorded at the same time, in a massive 'We Are The Void' tour edition package. In addition to the added songs and liner notes by Mikael [Stanne, vocals], there's also a live DVD capturing some special moments during the 150-and-counting gigs in support of the album."

Swedish melodic death metallers DARK TRANQUILLITY have released a video for the song "Zero Distance", taken from the upcoming tour edition of the band's latest album, "We Are The Void", which will be released in Europe on October 24 via Century Media Records. The clip is the first official music
video from Aduro Labs, a new film/production enterprise launched by DARK TRANQUILLITY's own Niklas Sundin, video photographer Peter Herneheim and post-production editor Love Andersson. The aim of Aduro Labs is to produce creative, original and aesthetically challenging video/animation work in a diverse range of styles. Further projects will be announced in the near future.

The first ever "live action" video, huh ?

Well, this new song is no fap fap like Daniel said before. This is more like spontaneous orgasm.

*Fap fap* was before it was released, several spontaneous orgasms is what happens. Funny thing: This song has one of the best riffs/guitar work of WAtV.

Here's the video, finally from U tub because the Metal Hammer site sucks (big time):

Some Dutch groupie I know already transcribed the lyrics:

Hey, what is your life about today?
A bit of emptiness
A close resemblance to what you thought was right or wrong
You don’t belong, the faith you hold is false

Climb to the darkest emotions
Sworn to the burden of grief

Disguised, with sympathy
It’s not supposed to be
I know you’re faking it
So take a look around

Zero distance
From where do you see yourself
Zero distance
How far are you willing to go?

A broken perspective
That you impose on me
In descent
A fallen set of standards

You go beyond what is decisively human
Take for murders what you do not have
What you can not own
Wear the mask

Be the mask you hide behind
You’re not supposed to see
I know you’re faking it
So take a look around

Zero distance
From where do you see yourself
Zero distance
How far are you willing to go?

Zero distance
Can you see what I see?
Zero distance
How far have you already gone?

To the end
What you fear
Burn all hope
…..

I want to see your soul
Disgust, from sympathy
A narrow engravery
I know you’re faking it
So take a look around

Zero distance
From where do you see yourself
Zero distance
How far are you willing to go?
