We Are The Void

What, you don't know?!?!?!? Mikael is one-quarter Canadian, and he's actually part of Devin's family. They often visit each other for Christmas, and last time Mikael got the new Rush live CD.

That's very interesting, I didn't know that! Now the title is even more mysterious. I wonder if they'll write it in Cyrillic (Архангельск) or in Roman Alphabet (Archangelsk). I think that having the former would be wonderful :dopey: . Please write it in Cyrillic!

Wait... what? :D

About Archangelsk: wordplay for "arch angels", but I could be mistaken.

Lacrimosa had Krasnodar song or something like that.

^ I don't know what you mean exactly by "straightforward", but I guess it has something to do with you living in Москва.

I couldn't have found a better explaination
If it is written in Cyrillic it leaves no choice but to think that the song is about the city :loco: And it cannot be so!)
I have a hunch that it was not a worldplay, but somehow they heard the city name and it sounded beautiful to Roman-German speaking ears (or smth)

Yeah but it's also a city in Russia :p .

Yes the Lacrimosa song is "I Lost My Star in Krasnodar", the new album is very good actually.

True true, you have a strong point there! Maybe it's not something about the city hehe, but it'd still be very cool if they put the name like that. I love languages, so that's the main reason why I'm saying this hehe :p .

I like it when DT keep things cryptic and make us keep guessing (an answer of course is welcome every now and then).
Regardless of whether the title refers to the city or not, i personally think that writing it in cyrrilic would be a bit pretentious. If that happens then they should also start writing titles in arabic, greek, swedish etc.

As for the other titles they're all very interesting. My only "objection" (for lack of a better word) is "the burden of love alive" which i find a tad too long and not-flowing. Without knowing the song and its lyrics, i'd cut the last word out.

As a matter of fact I've always wondered why DT never wrote at least some lyrics in Swedish.

And I think "TBLA" is a great title, if you take out the "alive" it sounds too corny IMO.

Close-Up Båten will mark the first show of DARK TRANQUILLITY's next world tour.

"It will definitely be the very first time we play songs from our forthcoming album, which will probably be released on February 22," says vocalist Mikael Stanne. "We absolutely view this as a release gig and start of our next world tour. The timing is perfect as the album's being released right around that time. We had such a blast the last time we played on Close-Up Båten in 2007 and thought it would be perfect to return to live action there."

:)

I'll hold my opinion in reservation until I see how "Burden Of Love Alive" is used in lyrical content, but at first glance it does seem like something that would come off a Billy Idol album...

Though, "InsignifiCUNT" ended up as The Lesser Faith, so there is a chance it won't even end up as a song title on the album.

From the latter titles, I really could imagine a few of these tracks sounding somehow like The Gallery, just mega updated. Some really complex abstract picking, some of those acoustic interludes, and other stuff. At least I hope!

Sounds to me like half of this album may be similiar to Fiction, like with some catchy choruses and upbeat things, and half may be a little more like Particle Storm, something that really puts you in a void of imagination. Definatly would be fine with me, I love both these sides of DT.

Apparently some journalists had an advance listening session shortly before the DVD release party. I was not at that session but have heard the opinion from two Danish journalists.
