Octo-cores are coming out Q1 2011. Word is they're gonna be available in march, like the 980x this year.

BTW, for those that can't afford epic 3496367572-core Intels there a couple of sixcore AMDs out now that are supposed to be decent and they cost $200-400

Yup. They offer performance that comes somewhere quite close and have FAR lower price tags

2011? Wtf seriously? Mac pro already run with octo core (and I hear lot of rumor about a new line for may/june), why isn't already possible with pc?

In those macs, Octocore was 2x quadcore

In addition to the ownage above, it is perfectly possible to construct a octocore setup for a PC. Totally standard for many servers, set up exactly the same as the mac pros
