Exactly. Apparently Edwards, Greco and Burny are the way to go as for MIJ guitars. Ibanez apparently is a step below but still better than Epiphone (my wife has a Ibanez Tele Custom from the 70s that is AMAZING, tho'. Mahogany body + birdseye maple neck + fretboard) . Tokai are great on the +$1000 models.

INteresting to note that my Edwards is LIGHTER than my SG. I think it is around 3 or 3.5kg, but still got more oomph than my other guitars. Awesome.

how about finding a ibanez lawsuit model

Has anyone plugged in or tracked the newer Ibanez AR series (single cut)? I've picked a few up at the stores and the feel absolutely great, but that's not really a good way to tell if an axe is gonna work or not.
