This is a question that usually gets very opposite answers. Hate it or love it?

I personally can´t stand power metal at all.

I love it, The guitar work is unparalled and usually unbelievable, And the vocalists are often great, and I just think power metal can be listened to no matter what mood you might be in.

Some call the lyrics cheesy, I dont think the lyrics are cheesy at all, I think they're great (although there are the odd flubs) some people just dont like the subjects that the songs cover, hence thinking cheesy lyrics, or at least thats how im seeing it.

Im trying to think of something else to say right now... but im drawing a blank.... dammit... ah well :headbang:

just a humble question besides :D what do you ppl. consider as POWERMETAL? how to reckognize it as such?

opacity (intending s.t. with this question... )

Powermetal is my guru and it's the gnosis! I am powered by Powermetal and gurus like Gamma Ray, Avantasia, Blind Guardian...n't stuff!. Judas Priest also rocks!

I LIVE BY POWERMETAL!! (i'm not really into doom/death n' stuff! I want it to be sing-able and have a good lyrics - understandable) but death is good!

CANT WIN OVER POWER FOR ME!!! :d hehe

I LOVE power metal! Blind Guardian, Gamma Ray, Hammerfall, Primal Fear, etc. Abso-fucken-lutely. Any power metal lovers in the USA heading to Atlanta in November for Prog Power?

I used to listen more to power metal, but these last few years very few bands really interest me. The problem with it is that it has become too repetitive in my opinion (especially European power metal). Why listen to a mediocre clone of Helloween or Blind Guardian, when you can listen to the original? Nevertheless, some power metal band may find its way to my stereo....

I really enjoy a few PM bands such as Blind Guardian, Stratovarius, Angra, Kamelot, Iced Earth and (sic) Rhapsody.

but most of it just doesn't make it for me. too primitive and formulaic, rare bands show a bit of evolution. not to mention the moronic, stereotypical "hail true metal" attitude.
