What is the latest CD you acquired, and what are your thoughts on it?

I aquired Kamelot's new one Epica. I'm a big fan of their last two, and this is in the same similar kind of vein.

There is nothing earth shattering to me on this new disc, but for people that liked the last two they will probably find this one quite enjoyable.

The coolest thing for me with this disc is that there are some stranger tunes, like Lunar Sanctum from T4L. LS is probably my favorite Kamelot tune, and it's pretty far out there for Kamelot. This disc has a couple tunes with some similarities.

I think for the next disc though they should look to perhaps scale back a bit on the production, and maybe go for a little different type of sound.

I don't necessarily think the past three discs sound totally alike, but they all have some similar sounds. It might be time for a change of sorts next time out.

I just recieved The first Andromeda album but it is the re-recorded one.

Andromeda - Extension of the Wish, the definitive extension.

Sounds much better to my ears.

I also placed some orders:

Gordian Knot /Emergent (Japanese Edition)
Hourglass/The Journey Into
Heaven's Cry/Primal Power Addiction

I am very much looking forward to the new Gordian Knot.

Yea, I discovered him via the internet. Conan's show is not available here in the Netherlands.

I checked their website. I was almost going to buy the album after hearing the first mp3 clip from their site, I believe it's called "Pawn"... but the remaining 5 clips failed to impress me.

Progmetalfan: The clips arent the best because they are too short to. I like the stuff a whole lot personally. It would be best if you hear the songs fully i think. If your interested i could send you some. My aim name is Soul of Ice 83

Holy One: Dont you mean Dreaming Neon Black? Beyond Within is a song off the album. Lately I cant stop listening to the CD, i liked it a lot before, but i really really love it now. Possibly my favorite of theirs. The best songs are imo Beyond Within, Death of Passion, I Am The Dog, Dreaming Neon Black, The Lotus Eaters, Poison Godmachine, All Play Dead, and No More Will

Damn thats almost all of them lol.

Yes, that's what I figured. The song clips are only about 45 seconds... but the songs are quite long... so imagine there's plenty of interesting changes going on. I may take that offer up in the near future. "Dreaming Neon Black" rules.

OH YEA. Beyond Within is my favorite song too!

When I bought the CD, I instantly fell in love with the song "Dreaming Neon Black" at my first time hearing it. It's so beautiful. *happysigh*

Yes yes, I love it, but I'm on a craze over Venom/IronMaiden/Symphony X/Emperor right now, more like going through each of those albums and constantly listening to them. For 2 weeks, I took those CDs of the bands I've mentioned and carried around everywhere with me, thus leaving me only listening to those. This post inspires me to listen to Nevermore:Dreaming Neon Black today. :D

Also: Is there some subliminal/meaning from the song "I Am the Dog"? The abstract lyrics confuse me, and I'm thinking that the word Dog is actually God...just backwards. :p Maybe I'm looking into this too deep...

PMF: You can hear the full Pawn at www.metalexpress.no

Soul Of Ice: You did manage to forget one of my favorites: the unbelievably intense Deconstruction! And Cenotaph...I worship Nevermore.

Holy One - I am the Dog is just about the girl who Warrell loved who happened to be born in the Chinese calendar dog year. This song is also where the album starts to pick up on the story where the main character is wondering what happened to his love.

I just love Nevermore's lyrics. So many songs have such deep meanings. Sheer poetry. If you wanna find out what their songs mean, go to the bands website and read the interviews they have there. All very interesting stuff.

Probably why they are my favorite band (still active)
