What kind of strings and picks?

I use Dunlop small jazz pics, .88mm
For strings, I buy D'Addario XL 7 string sets. .010 - .056. I don't use the .010 sting though. so really its .013-.056

Holy shit! You use a .88 mm pick on 13 gauge strings in a detah metal band? Don't you break a lot of picks? I got a 2 mm pick and 10 gauge strings...

I used to use .88 tortex with 11-49 I switched to dunlop .46 nylon picks and DR 52-12's and found that with the thinner pick I can play much faster and cleaner at the same time
I've experimented with many different string guages/ pics and this is what works best for me. These small pics are sharp, and make it much easier for me to tremelo pick. 
Mine actually isn't 2 mm, but I use to use 2 mm. The kind I have is just made of really strong material and everybody probably knows it. Jim Dunlop Jazz III

Ok, this is what I don't understand. How can you tune to B with those strings? I use the new Everly strings (12-60) and tune to C and still think they flop around. Do you use some special kind of tension springs or something? Or do you actually play on such atrociously loose strings?

Erm, its deifnantly the tension on your guitar neck. We have like 3 springs in our guitars.... and they are just perfect, not too floppy!
i use 10 - 56 Dadarrios or DR's with a Dadarrio bass 60 for the 7th string
and i use jim dunlop jazz III's, i like it that way, pinch harmonics scream with the sharp end on the bastards and it is heaps easier to tremelo
btw, how low do use have ur strap?
the top of my guitar is on my hips
its really weird that some people liek the guitarist from emperor have it so high! and like james hetfield have it so low!
