What made you laugh today ???

My assistant @ the office letting me know he enjoyed hearing "son of a bitch" ACCEPT

Most polls have The Scorpions original Virgin Killers cover as no. 1.

I think it's one of the best covers ever. Dont'get me wrong, I'm not a pedophile, but for an album called "Virgin Killer" the picture of naked innocence is just perfect. If the album where called anything different it would be maybe one of the tasteless covers ever, just my mindset.

That sleeve has been debated here a few times. According to the standards in Europe at that time the sleeve was not that special. You could see it hanging on the wall's or windows of record-shops. I bought the album the same week it was released.

The parents of the girls were consulted and permission was asked of both the parents and the girl. I agree with Wyvern and S; it is a perfect illustration of the album title and I see no porn in it but indeed art.

Didn't state my opinion yet Henri, don't mix me with Wyvern, he's the bald guy :)

I completely agree with Hawk. In that time period there was nothing wrong with the album cover. There were a bunch of albums that had nude on them, and there was no talk yet about child porn back than.

You are right! I corrected it a few seconds ago. Just before your reaction. So you are the guy with all the hair? :worship: :yow:

I find it fascinating to see such differences in reaction to that sleeve. It must be the cultural differences between the US and Europe.

Like, this would be an upto date album cover !!!

Please read comments;
"The album cover may seem misleading for the uninitiated today. The radio show was called "The Naked Vicar Show", which was the title of the original 'best of' LP (on vinyl), and featured the Vicar only, in his wicker chair. Of course, this second album was titled 'Son of...'. So the cover is a piece of clever humour in that context. "

It's a rather iffy album cover by today's North American standards I suppose, but if it's illegal, then so are parent's pictures of their kids first baths. I find nothing pornographic about that album cover. It's tasteful and done for an artistic reason.

And yes, the cover they replaced it with is undoubtedly worse! :p

Glad to see some more people agreeing that the cover was tasteful nudity and do match the title of the album. Besides it beats a Manowar cover with guys in fur any given day :heh:

Hey Gert what's the problem with bald people? :p, it's just skull nudity :saint:

Don't say that too loudly, I think these days here you can't take a photo of your kids at a beach or swimming pool.

It seems like most of the stories I've seen coming out of Australia in the past 1-2 years are the Government censoring bloody everything. Fallout 3, movies, possible internet censorship, and now this other controversy you've posted. I haven't followed your country's politics closely but it seems like the conservative powers that be in your country have gone mad.

Are any of these things still an issue with the new Labour PM or has she laughed it off?

As you probably know it's public pressure that will force a govt. to implement change. Things that get banned are just news headlines, they stopped a Carcass or Cannibal Corpse CD shipment at customs, it made big news then a few days later the CD's were on the shelves but the news didn't report that - sensationalism.

SCHOOLBOYS have been banned from a pool changeroom because adult male swimmers are afraid they'll be falsely labelled paedophiles.

The above was not a result of any govt.
