Well, i've heard and read loads of different opinions about what COB plays, someone somewhere even said that they play punk rock...
anyways, i personally think that they play melodic death metal, but some people say theat they play melodic back metal and others say that they play thrash metal.
so, what do they actually play?

+1^ Their music style doesn't have a official name.. has it? I think it's close to melodic black metal.. or something.

Heh the punk rock thing was my comment on the last guy's thread about what kind of music they are. Alexi calls it that, it's his band, so it's punk rock.

SW - (Half)Melodic Black Metal
HB - Melodic Death Metal
FtR - Melodic Metal
HCDR - Hardrock Metal
T,L&S - Trash Metal
AYDY? - Punk Rock Metal

That's how I'd call it..

Well, do you really wanna put CoB in some kinda drawer of musical styles? I guess, you can't put them to any group. I guess, mostly it's thrash metal but there are lots of elements from death metal, black metal, punkrock and even classical old school metal in their style.
So let's just call it Bodom-Metal!:headbang:

If You Want Peace.. has definitely punk influences, and it's closest to that "punk" Alexi's been talking about..

Those heavy crunching guitar riffs at for example You're Better Off Dead and Lil' Bloodred Ridin' Hood make me think hardrock, the keyboard is all that makes it different..

You're better off dead has also very much punk influences..
but alexi listen to very much different styles of music
it's just children of bodom.. or heavy metal with some trick's

i dont know about their new stuff but i've always considered SW, FTR, and HB power/thrash metal with black metal vox.

its obviously power metal because of the famous power metal chord progressions and the insane guitar/keyboard solos.
