What new metal have you guys been listening to?

Textures - New album streaming on their myspace atm

Gama Bomb - 4 new album tracks on their myspace

Evile - One of my fave cds of last year

The Absence - Latest album has awesome solos

...And not that it's new but if people don't own Symbolic by Death then you're missing the most underrated metal album ever.....IMO

Actually that could count as new because Roadrunner are about to release the remastered version with the demo tracks as a bonus

Have any of you ever heard of the band SILENT CIVILIAN? I just ran across their video for th song "The Song Remains UnNamed" today on youtube.

The music sounds good. Their Myspace and youtube encoding sounds horrible tho... but i'm sure the actual album sounds better hearing it how it was supposed to. The guitar tone and drums sound great. Do you know what they used to get the guitar sound? http://www.myspace.com/silentcivilian

Amen to that sir!

Symbolic all the way. Been one of my favourite albums since I heard Sacred Serenity on one of the first Terrorizer CDs way back in '95. Every self-respecting metal fan should be forced to buy this album at gun point.

And Textures are one of the most brilliant bands ever. I always wanted Devin Townsend to produce Meshuggah re-arranging Pantera riffs and thank god someone did something as close to that as possible. Beautiful.

I'm currently enjoying some good old favourites:

Skid Row - Slave To The Grind
Comeback Kid - Wake the Dead
Metallica - ...And Justice For All

and the new Byzantine and Meshuggah records.

And keep an eye out for the new misery signals album when it comes out. Their first album was incredible, and this one looks set to be similar thanks to a certain Devin T in the producers chair again.

Right now at the top of my pile is Origin - Antithesis, Anata - Conductor's Departure, Blotted Science - The Machinations of Dementia, and a couple more, but ESPECIALLY Origin

I went ahead and got their 192kb version of Funeral and it doesn't sound much different at all from youtube/myspace.

I've been listening to Winds of Plague a lot recently. I highly recommend their albums A Cold Day in Hell and Decimate the Weak to any fans of both Nile and Deathcore in general. Their breakdowns can be a bit "beaten to death", but nonetheless a worthy listen.

I heard one of their tracks but it just sounded like bog standard power metal with death vocals and rubbish deathcore breakdowns. And an album cover that wants to be Prey For Eyes by the Red Chord…

I'm enjoying Decrepit Birth though. Hadn’t checked them out before. You can tell they love Death – which is always a good thing.
