3. Opeth is NOT THE EPITOME OF MUSIC. They are NOT the best band ever, neither in the songwriting department, nor in the technical chops department. They write really good music, but that doesn't mean they are the best band ever. That apparently is something you fanboys will never understand.

The reason I gave up drumming was because I started to listen to rap! It was boring just playing a very simple beat over and over again for 4 minuttes!Originally posted by OneFootBlaster
Being a drummer, I do like some rap (mainly percussive stuff like OLD Public Enemy) but the weakassed rapping in Linkin Park is pretty lame.
Best Danish rap record EVER imo!!!! I don't listen to rap anymore and I want to sell this record plus the next one they made ("Arh der"). They were both great records and without a doubt the best Danish hip hop releases (alongside Malk de Koijn) if you ask me! I think I first heard it in '89 actually!the most embarassing cd in my collection is MC Einar: Den nye stil (a danish rap cd) I liked it back in the 80's but hey I was only a kid!

I don't think Public Enemy made their own drums. They most likely ripped off old records like everybody else in that genre. I know they've jacked James Brown's "Funky drummer" quite a few times! Check that song out and you'll recognize the drum beat at once, as I think it's the one song that's been stolen the most over the years!
I know that all of thier beats are swiped from other sources, I just meant that they used them quite well... for instance the sample on "She Watch Channel Zero" or Night of The Living Baseheads".. very cool and percussive scratching on there.
BTW- pretty much all of James Brown's music had amazing musicians. Especially "Funky Drummer".
Sorry, just not my cup of tea...Originally posted by ControlledChaos
