It was never a good song to begin with, so they decided to make it slower and even boring. All the while the singer is sounding like he's constipated and trying to take a dump. It's really long so it makes it even worse.

The worst cover song in my opinion is Toad The Wet Sprocket covering KISS'S "ROCK N' ROLL ALL NIGHT" or Poison covering THE WHO'S "SQUEZEBOX".

The worst covers I've heard are done by cover bands. Especially when they do a cover of a cover like playing Metallicas version of Whiskey in a Jar---O. And that whole Helloween Metal Jukebox cd is not too spectacular.

I think the "Love Bites" cover by Nevermore is hideous, but I've never heard the original, so it may just be a suckass song.

Testament covered an Aerosmith song (I have selective amnesia on the title) on "The New Order"; it was awful, but mostly 'cause Aerosmith suck so Testament couldn't turn shit into excellence.
