Music is so necessary in life to so many people, and there are so many metal fans out there, that it's synonymous with saying you like tacos. It doesn't instantly make for a good time. Even people who like exactly the same subgenres are irrelevant, they might want to get drunk and do basement karaoke while you'd rather fist bump biceps and go record shopping.
I find the best baseline for company is people I can do things with, and sometimes we talk about music, and that's cool.

Apologies if I offended you guys, but that's just my personal opinion. I'm one of those joyless fascists who likes to be well kept, well groomed, and orderly. Over the years I've developed a certain amount of disgust to things and an appreciation for the order, I think its proportional to my political development towards the right. I just personally believe in continually trying to improve yourself, in physical appearance, emotional development and intelligence. And thus I find that keeping yourself well groomed is part of this process, as well as keeping yourself fit. As Socrates said, "No man has the right to be an amateur in the matter of physical training. It is a shame for a man to grow old without seeing the beauty and strength of which his body is capable.". I understand why most of the fan-base would be of opposition.
