The problem with rap is that it is dominated by commercialism - the closest i've heard in the rap scene to what i would like to hear (intelligent lyrics, no "attitude", good beats that actually evolve) is a guy called canibus, check it out with an open mind:

UK garage is also good, I just don't like it. It's loud, talentless, and annoyingly repetitive, *IMO*. Old-school rap/hiphop is pretty dope, tight, off the hook, phat, etc.

If you say Weezer, Dashboard Confessional, Savestheday, Taking Back Sunday, or any of that non emo drivel, then shut up.

Emo (emotional hardcore is what it stands for) fucking RULES. Listen to Joshua Fit For Battle - To Bring Our Own End, it's brutal, chaotic, extremely heavy, and the vocals are throat-tearingly awesome. A lot of breakdowns, wicked guitar parts, and a constantly changing pace make them utterly destroy.

If there was a fifth genre of punk, alternative, or fake metal, I would definitely vote for them as people often mistake me for a follower of these garbage genres although it is not hard to know what I like, with my patched jean vest and all.

If there was a country option, i'd vote that. I hate that genre with a burning passion. As to why i hate it: The music is first of all bad, then they turn it down to force you to listen to the unbearably bad singers. The artists don't even write their music, either. (note: i'm not saying ALL don't write them, 'cuz i know a select few do)Every aspect of country i find annoying. Even the lyrics are bad to me. There's nothing poetic about them, making them boring and dull.

On this poll, i'd have to vote rap. Probably the only reason it's the 2nd worst genre to me is that i've been forced to listen to country all my life. My parents love it and listen to it all the time, and my sister does too. I'm also forced to listen to it at work...I've secluded myself from rap, though. All i really have to say about rap is that it's hilarious. I've turned on a rap video on TV and just listened to the lyrics... LOL. They get payed for that shit...People BUY that shit. LOL. Stuff like Missy Elliot is the worst.
