Which parts does Steven sing?

He's credited with some vocal work. I think that's him doing the clean parts about midway through Deliverance? "The piercing sounds you make soaring higher, higer now..." etc. I'm unsure of anything else. But that part does NOT sound like Mike at all, so, I guess it's him..

It's pretty obvious when he sings. It's especially prevalent in A Fair Judgement, but there are little parts in the others.

Really? I find A Fair Judgement to seem to be all Mike, except for the part where it's either two people or an echo... and is that Mike or Steven singing in the latter part of Masters Apprentices? (with the strumming acoustic guitar) I can't tell for the life of me. I have a pretty bad ear..

I think he sings "...into death" in Master's Apprentices, but it could be Mike. That's the only solo line that sounds like Steve Wilson. I'm certain they do a lot of harmonies together, though.

And I don't think any of the solo lines on Deliverance are him. That "soaring higher higher now" line struck me the first time, I'd never heard Mike sing that high before.

Well, I think its obvious that Steven just sing backing vocals when it sais so in the booklet.

He is just in the background on songs like "master....". No singing such as in Bleak.

IMO the Deliverance part with " The piercing sounds you make..." is definitely Steve Wilson.
Just compare it to the "Deliverance...thrown back at me" part, that's Mike. Pretty much of a difference, if you ask me.

I think its better that he only does backing vocals for this album, I prefer to have just Mike doing the main singing parts for Opeth

But I absolutely love Steve's singing in all of Porcupine Tree

Hmm...Mike should do some guest vocals on the next PT album!

No I'm pretty sure that's Mike on that part in Deliverance. If you'd played that part to me when BWP came out, I'd have said it was Steve Wilson, but after hearing him sing Credence live like that, and the two BWP bonus tracks, and.. well, the rest of Deliverance, he can sing like that now. Which is one reason I'm looking forward to Damnation so much.

The reason I don't think that part in Deliverance is Mike is cuz it lacks Mike's accent. It's much more clean. Hard to explain, but when you listen to Mike sing, you know it's him, he has that certain trademark tinge on his voice...

When he sings like that on some other stuff, it really doesn't sound like him. But you can still hear the.. I guess his voice has more of a whine to it, if that makes any sense.
