who else gets their music from....

^ have you heard In Battle There Is No Law or Realm of Chaos? easier to understand their opinion through those albums

I used to check out Metal Observer years back. It's a good site to start out at, but later down the line, you need reviews by people with more specialised musical interpretation.

e.g. I hate seeing reviews done by people who don't know the music, the style, and the band. It's very annoying.

Nevertheless, for those just getting their feet wet, Metal Observer is okay.
I still go onto MO from time to time. Have you ever listened to their podcasts? I know, it's not quite the same as when they had their radio station, even though it would've been better on Winamp, Windows Media, RealPlayer, or Quicktime, as opposed to Live365 with their "Upgrade to preferred membership" ads, which are as annoying as many of the commercials one hears on corporate terrestial radio. Anyway, I've heard some pretty great tunes on their podcasts- you might want to check it out if you haven't heard it.

Any site that claims that Demigod and Morpheus Descends are ripping off Cannibal Corpse gets the thumbs down from me.

Also, any site where Demilich's "Nespithe" is one of the lowest rated albums gets the thumbs down from me.

M-O is both.

That Demigod ripped off Cannibal Corpse is hilarious fior sure, but Nespithe was reviewed by an old-schooler and it got 7,5 which marks it as a good album. I'd rate it lower myself:p

nespithe is 7/10 not really the lowest rated album (s)

I made a big haul today and had to use metal-observer cause metal-archives was fucking down. that site needs some ads or something.

Cannibal Corpse is not even first rate themselves. Demigod sounds nothing like them regardless. I honestly don't read reviews unless I already like an album and then curious too read someone elses opinion who likes it also.

Look at this review. Someone should punch this person in the face.

"Master percussionist Fenriz extends his philosophy of simple drumming to a style where the toms and bass interplay for a constant roughshod grapple of elemental forces as accented by the sinister shadow of a companion cymbal or high-hat, riding each other into a continuity unprecedented in this genre, including archly-satanic battlefield fills that in simplicity and desperation express the dying gasp of a world aflame with its own denial. Over that guitars layer melody in single notes and contrapuntal dissonant patterns, creating a void of extreme ambiguity that demonstrates the doppler effect in music by approaching beat centers with a rising or descending but paradoxically oppositional melody."
