The two guitarist of the band Carcass *sorry I forgot their names, but I think that one of them was Bill Steer*

the other carcass guitarist was Mike amott who is a god but the ultimate DM guitar god was definatly chuck schuldiner

Carcass's guitar solos were fucking great - not your typical death metal crazy stuff. They were more like traditional metal solos to me- very cool indeed.

Chuck was merely mediocre as a guitarist, excellent as a songwriter. His solos are mostly quite a bore. He did have a knack for getting some really amazing second guitarists to his band. Most of the time he was outshined by them except when his band become not-death metal.

I don't pay that much attention to just one aspect of the music so I can't really name any of my own choices...
