Death is one of my favorite bands, and I think Chuck is a good guitarist, but I have to agree with whoever said that he had a tendency to find 2nd guitarists that outshined him.

My vote for guitar god of death metal would be Trey Azagthoth.

Muhammed Suicmez certainly deserves a bump

as much as I thoroughly enjoy Krisiun's music though, I wouldn't say Moyses Kolesne is a timeless DM guitarist. I think he's got consistently great riffs, distinctive solos and he's very talented....but as a songwriter he really hasn't explored/progressed much within Krisiun.

Rutan isn't that great......Morbid Angel went downhill with him and Hate Eternal sucks, I am not familiar with his work with Ripping Corpse though...I respect him cause he is a hell of a guitar player he just doesn't write interesting songs
