" If Barack Obama becomes the next US president he will surely be assassinated, British Nobel literature laureate Doris Lessing predicted in a newspaper interview published here Saturday.
Obama, who is vying to become the first black president in US history, "would certainly not last long, a black man in the position of president. They would murder him," Lessing, 88, told the Dagens Nyheter daily.
Lessing, who won the 2007 Nobel Literature Prize, said it might be better if Obama's Democratic rival Hillary Clinton were to succeed in her bid to become the first woman president of the United States.
"The best thing would be if they (Clinton and Obama) were to run together. Hillary is a very sharp lady. It might be calmer if she were to win, and not Obama," she said. "
lol women
Well, if some 88 year old Persian chick thinks so, it must be true."If Barack Obama becomes the next US president he will surely be assassinated, British Nobel literature laureate Doris Lessing predicted in a newspaper interview published here Saturday.
That said, I have thought about the possibility that some whacko could take a shot at him, if he was elected, and the madness that would ensue.
From everything I've read, there's almost no chance of either of them being the VP candidate.I think everyone has thought about the possibility of Obama getting assassinated at least once. You know it would be a bunch of rednecks that did it, too. I'm worried that if he gets elected, Hillary will be VP, and then when he gets assassinated, BAM! We'll have her.

The prevailing wisdom seems to be, that Bill will be 2nd in charge, significantly diminishing the role of the VP. Consequently, the role of Hillary's VP will be significantly less desirable than the role of VP typically is. In addition, Obama would forever link himself to the Clintons, in the minds of Republicans and Independents, and to some extent, damage his electability. Often the Vice Presidency is seen as a role to the Presidency. However, Obama's road is already paved for 2016 or 2020, and he doesn't need the Vice Presidency.Yeah, on the surface that's what I've read as well; however, my instincts tell me that if Hillary gets the nomination she'll have no choice but to give the VP nod to Obama (assuming he'd accept) to diffuse the unrest that would result over her getting the candidacy. If Obama gets the nomination, he could pretty much name any VP candidate he wants IMO.
