Why Anthrax Isn't Big In The USA

Come on people, let the man have his opinion. That's all it is. I've also listened to Anthrax since STD but am still tired of hearing Charlie bitch about how we Americans suck. I bought two copies of WCFYA and think it's their best yet but I don't like being hacked like that.

i thought it was about the american music industry, mtv, radios,etc...anyway you are here and you like metal, so whats the problem, it wasn't referred to you

He can have his opinion about charlies whining all day long, I myself am very vocal on this subject too....but this clown should say his piece like the rest of us w/out jerkin his gherkin and saying dumb shit about bands from WAAYYYYYYYYYYYY back in '99 or so standing the test of time...thats where the opinion turned to stupidity. that isnt entirely correct,they did have an album called mate feed kill repeat released in 1996 and i am sure they were together a while before did that album.

sure they exploded and got big but i think they have def paid there dues!!!

well, yeah. they had that release, but it was a local release and it only had like 2 or 3 of the members that are in the band now... and no one heard of them before they got signed to roadrunner.

Charlie's points are totally valid - I do agree with much of what he says, and I've been with the band since 88. But I do feel his complaining to us, his loyal fans, is totally pointless apart from perhaps making himself feel better at the end of the day.

What's probably the worst of all in my opinion, is that when I see Charlie or Scott for that matter interviewed in magazines / radio (a great chance to promo the band / records etc), they still whinge.

Got to agree with timmyc and tattooedsean on this. On one hand I think AnthraX havent got the respect they deserve but it would be fine to read a Blast beat without Charlies whining - CHARLIE, WE KNOW YOU´D LIKE TO DO A BIG TOUR. WE THE FANS WOULD LOVE THAT TOO! But we aren´t the ones who decides who´s touring with who.

ThraX have toured with many cool bands over the years: Megadeth, Lamb of God, Life of Agony and so on...

ya know I have never minded Charles whinging to us ... its like we are family ... he's confiding in us ... his loyal fans! So hell why not. Of all the bands I love no one deserves the recognition finally than Anthrax ... they are consistenly been far superior to the other big four 80s pioneers in my own opinion (maybe only Slayer has kept up with em).

Also man charlie has Italian blood in him ... heck I am of similar european blood ... man its our divine right to complain

well, id have to agree the music nowadays cant toucht he music fromt he 80s in my point of view, cause anthrax was pure fuckin thrash back then and now they are kind of a mix of metal and hard rock to me, but what i dont agree on is slipknot and judas preist standing the test of time, i mean thye put out crappy music in the 90s, priest was putting out shitty music after halfordleft and even when he was in the band in their later times, i mean, anthrax isten selling out shows cause they dont play greath live thrash, they arent selling out shows because people dont wanna hear metal tha tmuch anymore, they wanna hear pop punk and alt rock.

how many other bands communicate so directly and honestly with their fans?

people only notice whining because it can make you stand out like a wuss. It's about working hard and kicking ass which Anthrax does. The old metal head in me says stand up and take like a man and I will rock your ass off. Don't know where I'm going with this one but I'd like a promotion at work.

Loads of other bands communicate with their fans in the same way as Charlie and Scott. Visited the Machine Head, Soulfly, Megadeth sites lately??

I don't notice only when they whinge, believe me .......but it's the amount of whinging that gets too much at times, especially when I see it in interviews on radio or press. Why not use these opportunities to promote the band more rather than complain about the state of metal etc etc.
