A Forum-wide ban can be implemented by most mods of any board now? Sure RiA can be a bit.. tactless. but to have your SN banned from the entire site due to a minor infraction on one band forum is a bit much, to me.

Say what you want about the Opeth forum, but it has come a long way in the last year as far as trolling / troublemaking and any attempts to do so are met with a "Da Ban".

To be honest, I am hardened to any troll / humor attempts there at this point, going theough all the crap people have caused there over the past couple years. Yeah there are some overzealous fans in there but... hey what can ya do. We've all been through our fan boy phases at some point in our musical listening timeline.

Did you know Opeth have very little knowledge of music theory? They just play chords and chord progressions that make the Opeth sound.

I saw some footage of them on youtube with Mikael playing a bunch of Opeth tunes on the guitar, and the interviewer was asking him which chords he was playing....and he was like, "the fuck if I know".

You have to admit, that's metal. Just play by ear and avoid music school teachings.
