It can. It's extremely difficult to make, your everyday virus creator wouldn't know how, but it's possible. I'm only not sure if it's possible to simply exploit the jpeg to run unauthorised code or if you need some specific security flaw in the viewing software. But viruses in pictures is not unheard of.

I had already seen this before... It's really too bad that A WRONG VERSION of the album cover leaked out. The final one can be significantly different.

Also, it sucks that the original poster isn't taking Jari's word into account and taking the pic down.

Well, if you look at the track titles, it's more about:

Silver leaves
Storm
Land of Snow and Sorrow

Than just a 'tree'

The S/T was just tress and a man anyway, i'm not sure what people expect from covers really I think it's great.

cover art is 90% of the reason I give bands I've never heard of a look. If it catches my eye, I listen to it. If it doesn't, I let it go (possibly screwing myself out of some good music). Perfect example: The latest finntroll album has a sillouete of some jerk sitting in a row boat. Now of course finntroll is incredible, but if I had never heard of them, I never would have given that album a second look.

You don't think 'Time' cover is eye catching? I think it really is, mainly the pink sky.
