World Cup of Failball

Neither would I, but I wouldn't call it a "massive" difference. You speak the same language and share a similar culture. It's not like you're German.

Well, indeed, but the genetic history and natural characteristics of the people vary a great deal. Might as well be German.

Are they going to ban the Vuvuzhelas soon? Hate turning down my speakers because of BZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZT being blared every 3 seconds.

South Africa = Fail

Well, Scotland and England are obviously two different countries with a completely different people in each, I just thought you may have a little place in your heart for England in the World Cup.

I guess the dark humor and pointed ribbing the English are known for doesn't go over too well with the Scots. Just forget about it, I won't joke about it anymore.

I was just jiving with you. I don't really support any international teams, just my club team. I don't support Scotland and I don't support anyone else. If you're interested, though, the Scots and English are practically bred with a gentle hatred towards the other and never support each other, in anything.

Greece, I fear will not play as interesting as in the olden days..

Have to side with derek here. I live in the same country as those damn Walloons too, and we hate each other's guts, and you better believe I'd consider you an ignorant ass if you said we're "all the same".

Yes but you both speak different languages. It's kinda like the north vs the south thing in the US, but we have no problem admitting we're from the same culture, we speak the same language, yet our backgrounds may be completely different.

The Welsh having a different language I can see, but I was under the impression that people living on the same small island wouldn't be petty enough to hate each other and completely denounce any similarity between them. Then I remember we're human.
