Worst Symphony X songs?

I'm not really that big on 'death of balance' since I found out a big chunk of it is a massive rip off from 'the mirror.' I still like it though.

I can't get into the first album at all, but aside from that I can't think of anything of theirs I dislike. Actually I'm not big on 'wicked' either.

Did I see THE RELIC mentioned multiple times on here? That's one of my favorites! Ah well, different people have different tastes.

Orion? Best solos, some killer riffs, and the vocals and lyrics are simply amazing.

And how could people pick Sonata, which is based on a Beethoven piece - Beethoven is obviously the freaking shit.

Obviously, I can't pick a least favorite song. SX just kicks that much ass.

Orion is an awesome song! The pre chorus (On a quest for light, and braving the seas..) is one of my favourite Symphony X parts ever. The chorus is a little bit average though. I must add Lady of the Snow to my list, that song does nothing for me at all. I can't believe someone put Absence of Light, one of my favourite songs! There is really no Symphony X song i would skip past, even my least favourites have parts i like, usually an awesome Romeo solo.

DG - Savage Curtain (but the solo is amazing)
DWoT - Out of the Ashes
TiO - Smoke & Mirrors/Church of the Machine (tied)
V - A Fools Paradise
Odyssey - King of Terrors

I picked it cuz I've heard the original so many times, so I'll have to sometimes skip that song even thought Romeo's soloing is very good on that.

Orion is honestly one of my favourite SX tracks. It has a different feel to most of their other songs but i think everything about it is awesome. The riff that comes in at about 4:17 is probably the grooviest riff of all time. i love it so much.

I agree, everyone who listed Orion is nuts. My choices would be Shades Of Grey (worst SX song ever), Secrets, and Savage Curtain...not exactly terrible, but the chorus is probably their cheesiest moment.

I totally agree...

By the way, A Fool's Paradise, worst? :OMG:

I don't get it, Shades of Grey is one of the better songs on S/T!

When the curtain falls, I'll hold my head up high...

I know its your opinion..but still, :guh:
Yeah, bad call with the TiO tracks. I'll retract them.

A Fools paradise though, hmmm it's got too much Witching Hour about it. Maybe I only just skip it because Rediscovery is the next track/s :headbang:

Actually that "rip off" riff from DoB appeared on A Lesson Before Dying, approximately at minute 8. Also, if I recall correctly, both S/T and Awake were released in 1994, so a rip off ther is highly unlikely.
