WoW!!

Reached lvl 12 yesterday. I think it's more addicting than fun this far, but I guess my low level is part of the explanation. Stupid Scarlet crusaders killing me all the time... :bah:

A question: is there no magical way of transporting one self (like the mark/recall spells in morrowind) except for the hearthstone?

Mages learn teleporting and portal-making skills at higher levels. They're of course pestered with "Can you make me a portal to [name of a capital city] please?" a dozen times a day.

You're right about the "more addicting than fun" part, I wouldn't recommend buying the game at all after your guest pass period.
Then again I quit the game a week ago.

I can't make another char - I got my warlock to level 19, almost 20, but that was it.

I dinged 61 last night and went to explore new areas. Boy, my PC is slow.

It's surprising, Outlands is much more video-intensive than the rest of WoW. It runs fine on my computer, but her computers run it slowly as well. I'll probably be taking a break from it for a while, at least from our mains, while she deals with some school stuff.

In the meantime my brother and I will probably play our priest/warrior combo.

Oh boy.

I'm looking through WoWhead, and thee's some tasty stuff out there for Alchemists! How about a unique trinket adding 15 to all your stats, here, take a look:

To create it - most of the reagents require 24-hour cooldowns, and recipes for them can be acquired only through getting good rep with Outland's factions (i.e. through heavy grind). Yeah, slowly but surely i'm getting an impression game mechanics are all balanced out, so all comes down to the PC config now (I can't pwn anybody with my 10 fps during intense battles, woohoooooo =(

Somewhat similar to that is a new potion I learned how to create - Elixir of Mastery:

Boy, I sold 6 at 7.99g each in 30 minutes in the AH. Poor bastards - I gona be bathing in gold some time soon =) Alchemy and Herbalism will be maxed out by the end of the week, and with semi-precise herb maps at wowhead - here I come! =)

I guess herbalism/alchemy is the easiest way to make gold as soon as you can make decent potions: every class can use them (except rage potion used only by warriors), high class drinks are really buffing you up, I guess it's the most profitable combination after all.

I have an enchanter/tailor and miner/blacksmith - that all isn't that exciting or profitable. Keeping in mind that the best gear available only through quests/drops... well, alchemy is my golden goose now =D

I've reached level 20 now, and I've enjoyed the game so far. But I'm still very ambivalent regarding whether I should continue playing. If anyone want to say something that possibly could tip the scales in any direction, you're very welcome. :)

Good gear actually, other than the +str on some items and Band of the Hierophant.

@plintus: And what will you do with all the money you get? It's not like you can even buy anything terribly exciting in WoW. A better mount, that's about it.

CoT: I don't really have the energy to be convincing enough to necessarily tip your scales, I'm just saying from experience: Don't. It's a timesink, and if you can use that time doing better things (studying, reading, listening to music), just stay away. Of course, if you have absolutely nothing to keep your life interesting, WoW might help for a time.

True enough - I can't find anything in the Action House what I need or slightly like, at least for my level (dinged 63 last night, and then there was no Internet till morning :heh: ) But may be one day Blade of Hanna surfaces there, and I'll be ready! :kickass:

Man, I haven't played in weeks. I don't really miss it too much.

Ok, that's a lie. I really just want to get my main to 70, but that probably won't happen until this summer, and after the move.

And plintus... "Action House"? :p

TFH: I had decided to follow your advice, when my brother told me he had bought the game (without him knowing that I was playing). That he, of all people, would play WoW, was totally unexpected as he's an aesthetic guy who's going to art school and listens to groups like Belle & Sebastian, British Seapower, LCD soundsystem and other silly pop music.

It is clearly too good to be a mere coincidence ( :p ) so now we've teamed up as a night elf (sorry kov) hunter/druid 'dynamic duo'. Fear us. :D

"Sorry kov"?

Trolls are a fucking disgrace to the world of Azeroth, seconded by Tauren. I will fuckin wipe every one of them off the face of... whichever they gota be on.

Ouch, how the hell did that happen?

I get a letter from Argent Dawn with blah-blah-blah, fighting Scourge, blah-blah-blah, you are so amazaizing and stuff. The letter has an attachment which says 100g and looks like wrapping paper. I'm - oh, so cool, there's a present from Argent Dawn! I open the attachment, and it says, that opening it will cost me 100g, and I press OK without hesitating.

Oh well - money's gone instantly. And I've got the wrapping paper. Hm.

Anyway, I had enough gold, but this was upsetting, so I went as far as reaching the game support - I won't get my money back, but the fucker is being investigated. Will slow down next time, aye.

Hahahahaha...
From the very bottom of my soul...you noob! A gift from Argent Dawn, yeah right. And with approx 99.9% likeliness the person(s) behind it will keep scamming dozens and hundreds of idiots who look into the gift horse's mouth. I mean, "it says, that opening it will cost me 100g, and I press OK without hesitating".
Oh well. It really was funny though. Did you at least get a Miner's Pick or something useful like that from the gift?

In other news, I started playing again yesterday and today the launcher told me I had a trojan. Read up on it a bit, uninstalled Norton, installed the Kaspersky Anti-virus trial version which seems really good, got rid of the trojan. Really annoying though.

Not any longer. The fact that I didn't get my money back doesn't mean he supposed to have them.

I've got a wonderful wrapping paper :heh:
