WoW!!

Here's a tip to remember the server name. My fiancee (thank you siren), picked it out. It's the one with Math at the end. <facepalm>

But yeah, once we're all playing together, it should be easier to clear stuff.

If dt were playing WoW they would be playing gnomes:

Jan 4th update:

"Our team of highly trained gnomes..."

High-level gnomes? FOR THE ALLIANCE!!!!!

Ahhh, I thought you were referring to DT's myspace. No wonder my confusion. :p

And yeah... I'll have to fix that.

EDIT: WoW... longest profile load time ever...

Surprisingly yeah.

And with all shit on it the page looks near-neat.

Oh, those dumb teenagers :heh: Let's join the party...

Speaking of dumb teenagers, why on earth do I spend so much time lurking on the WoW General Forum? I swear it's the reason I feel so dumb nowadays.

I think tonight I'm going to take a break from the PvP grind (I think I have enough for Don Julio's, and the rest of the PvP gear, while an improvement, isn't really enough so for me to keep up the grind so consistently) and try to solo me some instances for cash. I think I may farm Mara, or maybe all of SM for a while. Though I've heard BRD is possible solo as well.

Hrm... though perhaps I'll drag my bro through BRD for lewts and xp for him.

Hold on: can you enter an instance while not being in a group? I didn't think so - it kicks you out once you are out of the group, doesn't it?

Where's that PvP grind, what is it (arenas?), and why should I do it (except grinding for cool gear) if I don't have enough time? Please, enlighten me.

No prob. If you leave a group that you went into an instance with, yes, it kicks you out. But only the 20-40 man raids require you to be in a group (actually a raid) to enter them.

PvP wise, I just meant grinding through AV after AV or AB after AB (WSG turtles too easily). I doubt the arenas are actually going to be a grind, as the maximum of 5 on each team should reward competitiveness over just being there.

Cool, I didn't know that about the instances! Which next one should I explore? I'm 55 atm (56 by tomorrow, 58-60 by Monday), Zul'Farrak is boring :S

Do bosses drop cool stuff, or anybody in the instance can? I'm not sure if I can take on a boss...

Also - is there any info on epic/uber-grim sets of armor for the coming expansion? I'd settle for Cryptwalker, really :)

There is word on the Tier 4 & 5 stuff at WorldofRaids.com, as Sal said. Aside from that, I'm not so sure.

As far as being able to take on stuff yourself, your best bet is to look at instances about 10 levels lower than you - it's handy for getting good loot for selling purposes (or disenchanting, if that's your thing). For experience, your best bet is still grouping up for higher instances. In your case, I'd go Blackrock Depths, Lower Blackrock Spire, Scholomance & Stratholme, and then Upper Blackrock Spire.

Oh well, I tried logging in after 11 (when I play for some time more or less frequently), and...

211+ people in queue, 5 minutes wait, to get into game ONLY! And... latency was way above 2000ms... I took on a few high-level foes, but that was it.

If it continues like that, I'm going to create a char on Destromath just to support my Blood Elf I'm going to create there.

Destromath can get queues like that too, just warning ya. They generally move quite speedy on the horde side (can't speak for the alliance), but just letting you know they're there.

What's going on - everyone is getting back into the game before the expansion (like I did :D)? It woul dbe getting on my nerves very soon if tehse delays continue.

IN OTHER NEWS: I love to see what they did to Mongoose elixir: it not only adds 25 agility, but increases critical strike rating by 20.

Now a question: on thottbot it's saying that it increases critical strike chance by 2%, but in game there's some critical strike rating (also defense rating, some others AFAIR) - what's this rating now and is there any math formulas for this?

Yeah, they changed up some of the formulas. I don't have them handy, but it's basically to keep low-level gear from boosting your stats at a higher level than gear your level would. If I remember, though, 20 crit rating is almost equivalent to a 1% increase in crit chance. At least at lvl 70 - maybe more at lower levels.

They're also introducing gear with a stat called 'resilience' (that looks like I made a typo there... which I may have...) that lowers the ability for your foe to score a crit on you. So the days of my 1 in 4 shots critting will soon be gone.

And I expect the first week or so after the expansion releases to be complete mayhem. The dranei and blood elf starting areas are on the same server as the outlands zone for each realm. Fun with crashing.

Yeah, and the box is going to be sold out in stores, I'm pretty sure :D Shame I didn't have a chance to get a Collector's Edition at the time, it was sold out in about 2 days, but nothing much I could do.

It's actually fair about balancing effects for higher levels, but it still doesn't make much difference for lower level chars since it was about "to hit" rating (higher lvls are harder to hit, right?) and actual weapon damage, when they are fighting with higher level opponents (I mean PvP, mostly from my experience). So 1 in 4 critical hits days may be gone, but you still will be making hefty damage.

BTW, about critical hits: effects of the spells (5% chance to stun the target for x seconds) - are NOT critical hits, right? So it doesn't matter that much anyway (if so).

I'm looking around for cool professions, and seems like Herbalism + Alchemy is the best combination so far: jewelcrafting might be useful for socketed weapons and whatever else, but those items you create on lower levels seem to be of little value.

I'm taking a break again as soon as my subscription for this month runs out: gameplay becomes too repetitive, and I'm fed up with waiting to get into the server for 10 minutes just to check on the auction status.

Plus - getting killed by every mob in Blackrock Depths and then getting kicked out of the party without warning, like I was the one getting aggro (well, may be just last time, but why the fuck 56-58s use a 52 healer, what's use of that anyway?)... um, I don't really have time atm for all that crap, so I'm getting Burning Crusade around February/March.

EDIT: BTW, Mongoose potions sell like crazy for 2g each (I sell in stacks) after they chaged 2% critical hit improvement to 20 critical hit rating - I haven't got a single return yet =)

2g each stack, or 2g each potion?

If it's the latter, good job :). If it's the former, they sold for more than that on destro pre-patch.

By waiting, you'll probably skip all the sucky lag and shit that'll be around the first couple of weeks. Me, I'm not sure. I'll probably level up my char with my fiancee in outlands. Maybe I'll make my belf to play when she can't. We'll see.
