WoW!!

Jewelcrafting: Anyone with the Xpac can take the profession, and make stuff - the stuff they make (that isn't BoP of course), and the recipes, can be bought and sold by anyone, though (Xpac or no).

Epic Mount: 100% speed bonus mount - better than the one you get at lvl 40. With the honor system, you can buy the 'black war [insert mount name]' for 30 marks from each battleground. The problem is that it costs 720g (lowered to 540g in the Xpac if you have honored status with your home faction) to get your riding skill up so that you can use it.

Honor system: Well, the lvl 60 epic PvP set is pretty damn nice. I've heard some people compare it to the Tier 2 armor sets. However, it's really only useful until the expansion comes out. True, they probably won't get replaced as fast as if you had all greens/blues, but I've heard most epics start to get replaced somewhere around 66-68.

Arena system: The arena system is totally seperate from the current honor system. Basically, you form up 'teams' (like mini-guilds) of 10, 6, or 4 people, to compete in the 5v5, 3v3, or 2v2 arena battles (they let you basically have a 'second string team' as a backup in your overall team, in case someone can't make it). You gain arena points and get ranked based on your performance - beating higher ranked teams ups your rank and gives you rewards faster than beating lower ranked teams. It's almost akin to the old honor system, but it seems to be a little less of a grind, as you don't lose arena points (in the same way you don't lose honor points you've already aquired). However, I think you have to participate in a minimum of 20 games a week to be ranked and get points.

That's about all I know on those points right now.

Gear advice: What's your spec right now? (I think you said survival...) Dont bother trying to buy some super epic bow from the AH - you'll waste your money. What's your level right now? If you've done any AV yet, did you choose the Ice Barbed Spear, or the Bloodseeker?

I'll make more recommendations once I know your level - might be a bit easier to tell you where to look at that point :)

This is absolutelly totally fucking vile:

World of Raids :: View topic - Caverns of Time - Battle of Mount Hyjal Attunement

I hope this game is going to be around when I retire, cuz it's impossible to find months of time and gear that good to actually take these quests on just to enter the instance.

Someone will accomplish this chain eventually :)

Haha, that's what I meant. It looks so incredibly sweet lore-wise, though.

From what I've read, though, a lot of the steps (about 75%) will be done just by people trying to unlock the heroic modes of the other dungeons anyway. It's at that point that the weeding out occurs.

At the very least, I'd love to go through the non-heroic versions of each of the instances out there.

What's the lore and Tier 2 and Xpac? :D I need to update my vocabulary, i think.

Spear looks cool :)

I got Gryphon something bow, I think this one - Thottbot World of Warcraft: Gryphonwing Long Bow - I just started playing (last time was September 4th), and can't remember everything I had yet.

Don't have time for AV right now, I'm leveling to 60, currently at 54.5, should be 55 in a day or two next time I play. I put everything into survival :S Got that Serpent Sting shot, which is kinda cool; my Alchemy and Herbalism are 300/300 - are they increasing it in the expansion?

And what's teh deal with those Flasks? Recipes are outrageous - up to 300 gold, and to make one of those is huge pain (number of ingredients makes me cry)... well, their effect doesn't wear off after you die.

I like one thing they made with the new patch for Hunters: you can set up traps during combat (like right under the guy you are in melee with) and when your target is close enough character automatically switches from projectile to the sword, and viсe versa, which, as I mentioned, decreases time between atatcks (I had to initialize melee manually AFAIR).

Hehe, np.

XPAC: expansion pack.

lore: the backstory of all the warcraft games, as incorporated into WoW.

Tier 2: Raid Armor set #2. Go to the WoW site, to look at armor sets. These drop primarily in Blackwing Lair, if I recall.

Tier 0 (Dungeon 1), Tier 0.5 (Dungeon 2), Tier 1 (Raid 1), Tier 2 (Raid 2), Tier 3 (Raid 3)

If you want a really nice 2h weapon (which I would think you would as a surv. specced hunter) hit up Dire Maul (North)(I think - the one for a tribute run) as quickly as you can. Do it as a 'Tribute Run' (avoid the ogre bosses instead of killing them), and you might get the Barbarous Blade (love it so much).

Ranged weaponry... meh... I'm not good on that stuff - I'm still using the Carapace Spine crossbow from Stratholme. I'd say try to pick up the Ancient Bone Bow from Scholomance.

Edit: Forgot some info:

Yeah, professions are going up to 375 as far as i know, and yeah, flasks are great because they last through death - you can sell them for shitloads to raiding guilds, because it'll last through their wipes.

I guess I'm better off buying those recipes - getting to the point where they going to drop is way complicated and long for me... they are currently going 200-300 (buyout) gold in the Action House, by the time I'll be able to afford any of them I'll have ingredients enough to make those flasks, that after selling they cover all my expenses... or do I think so? :)

Thanks for the info - pretty much what I thought it was, actually :)

Looks like I'll be questing in the meantime.

Nah, I'm torn between World of Warcraft, Call of Duty 2 and Magic: The Gathering Online (which I didn't play for a while, actually, but shortcut is still on my desktop).

And I'm totally into C#.

And let's talk about it in some video games thread, cuz this one is for munchkins... and I just realized I've got into WoW cuz some-you-know-who of this board were going to play it together, and it seemed so fun (after Anarchy, Galaxies and Camelot didn't work out for me).

Not worth wasting your money on flask recipes if you aren't in a raiding guild or if you don't have mats (ingredients) for enough flasks to cover the price of the recipe. You could always do a lot of UBRS to try and get the recipe from Drakkisath.

Finally seems like we're recovering from Christmas a bit and getting into raiding again. Only 20man so far though since we're officially on a raiding hiatus until next year.
Got some nice stuff for the priest from AQ. Fun class to play as an alt, since healing is pretty challenging compared to playing a hunter.

That's prolly what I'll do next month - will go UBRS in search for a flask recipes :) But I don't mind spending money - I have enough. Ingredients - should be OK as well, I'm often in the areas where most of required plants grow.

AH on Spinebreaker is filled with quite cheap jewelcrafting recipes, but I didn't see anyting impressive so far, most stuff would go with lower classes as I see it.

Yeah, maybe we'll make our BElf Squad about 2 weeks post-expansion :p

I think I'm gonna try to level my 60 for a bit first. I'm gonna take my time with it and soak up the storylines. Or maybe I'll just pvp.

I believe some guys here have way too much time. :Smug:

~viz (remembering those sweet unforgetable days when I skyrocketed the phone bill with 200 hours/month mfing and doing cowruns)

I'm employed full time + have my own biz and social life, WoW just fits. I'm not sure if there's anyone here playing hardcore.

I'll have a female Blood Elf mage - after seeing what a high level mage can do to a few opponents at once. I'll call her Barbie.

Haha. I'm going to be disturbed when you start running around spamming the /flirt emotes.

"Well, normally I only ride epic mounts, but... let's talk."

Hahaha :D

I'll give her most masculine name then... like, Hellgah, or something :D But those Blood Elves are surely babes.

Sold Wall of the Dead yesterday, I think the only epic drop I ever got during grinding... and finally got to the Plaguelands :D BTW, Spinebreaker was FULL yesterday, I had to stay in the queue for some time.

Crazy. I was gonna get some WSG in last night, but Destro was full as well.

The BE Males might actually be more your speed, then :p

"You look almost as good as I do." , "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me?" , (sigh) "I could really use a scrunchy...yeah, you heard me!"

Maybe you could even stick with naming it Barbie :p

I have a story in mind: Blood Elf mage (girl) falls in love with Night Elf hunter (my main character), passion spreaded between realms (as they going to be on different servers) and meant to bring Elves together.

I'm SO NOT aware of the lore behind differences of elves, but if all that is about good sex - who cares?

Thus - new faction is formed, and Night Blood Elves fuck up everyone. And the Burning Legion weeps. Yeah.
