Sexy in disguise... once again. (clean vox bit... best sounding all yawny and corneredish IMO, but up to yous).

Then just the chorus over and over... into the abrupt fade out.

That is abso-fucking-lutely incredible. I LOVE IT!

And I've figured out exactly how to sing (growl) the non-clean parts and still be on tempo. Now Tri just has to figure out how to sing the clean vox so quickly :p

Question - the lines sung at the end with the chorus - are those gonna be clean, or overlayed growls?

Also - the only trouble I'm having is jumping from one verse to another occasionally - what I'll probably wind up doing is recording each seperately and then parsing them together.

Unfortunately I won't be near my mic till tomorrow night, but I'll definitely start on it then. (Maybe it'll give my throat time to heal too...)

EDIT: BTW, most of my growls are very deep compared to Stanne's ability to go a bit higher with them. If anyone else wants to do some of the growled part with me, I'd be totally up for that.

I'd really like to do the drumtrack but I don't have the option of a proper studio, so I'll improvise a bit and it might take some time... and I'll have to use my laggy old double shit of a cobra omg. :cry: (don't have the money for a good double pedal so I've been playing single for quite some time now)

Tri: It's okay if Mariah is not your cup of tea. ;) I think I understand what you're getting at about depressing songs not lending themselves to soulful singing. Most likely it all boils down to our perceptions and personal taste. I believe melancholic songs can be done with soul but if a performer does not want to take that approach, then it's their artistic freedom to take it whichever direction their preference and ability level leads them. That said, I will submit to you Amorphis as a better example of what I prefer in contemporary (soulful) melancholic Eurometal singing. Thanks for reminding me that everything has its place, Tri. I apologize for projecting my personal taste onto your artistic intent. If you believe you have it in you then you probably do, so, good luck with your training and getting your work out to the masses. :headbang:
 
Haha, It's ok! I'm not mad at all. I just like talking about myself.. hehehe I will listen to Amorphis and I do see what you mean. It's ok to have suggestions, and if I did not follow 'em it's just cause I had another idea. I like to get sugestions....

As for getting my stuff out to the masses: I fucking will do that. I just need a proper band. It does not work as I do now. You, recording every fucking line by myself, an exeption is violin though. I'm just not up for it as a guitarist... I mean I'm just simple. That sux sometimes.
 
I'll hopefully put in a rough (as I've still got that horrible throat thingy - you'll be able to hear it) copy of the growls down tomorrow night (around 9-10 pm EST). Sorry for the delay Tri. (And yeah, I think you can cover that ending section too, while I do the chorus there).
