stop complaining about In Flames... I started listening to In flames in the Jester race era, and personally I think reroute is an excellent album, In Flames is still my favourite band. and if you don't like them anymore, then you should just shut your fucking mouth

no you idiots, poeple who say it sucks just want to make themselves "elite" but on every metal forum ive gone too so far everyone says the same thing:"in flames new album is gay nu metal and we have too be closemeinded and say it sucks because we wanna be elite" basically....

A lot of people say that the new In Flames album sounds like nu-metal. Is this true folks? Many said that Slayer's God Hates Us All album is nu-metal (yeah right) just because it wasn't as Thrasy and they cussed a lot.
By the way, I think In Flames are OK but not amazing.

So essentially, what you are saying is that anyone who says that they don't like the new In Flames album is close minded? Perhaps you should look in a mirror if you want to see closemindedness

I don't know whether to be happy or depressed. Is Ozzfest brightening up or do they really think that IN Flames has "sold out" that much? Does this mean that there will be a new interest in metal within the mainstream market or does it mean that we've lost In Flames forever and the mainstream will infest the metal crowd?

I don't know... but I still like them.

~Sh0k~

SOLD OUT??? what does that means to you??... for me its a band/artist that only makes music, or changes its style for the money. For example: Limp Bizkit and all that shit.

Bands like Cradle Of Filth, Dimmu Borgir, NIghtwish and In Flames has been labeled as "comercial" bands or bands that has sold out. I THINK THAT JUST BECOSE THEY ARE MORE FAMOUS, that dosent mean they have sold out.

It dosent have to be "super underground" to be a good band and make good music. ImO

 It's hilarious that every In Flames thread ends up with people arguing. I don't like In Flames, but some people need to get the fuck over it.

Pretty much every thread on this forum descends into arguments lately, I've noticed. As soon as someone voices an opinion, someone else tells them they're stupid/ignorant/closed-minded/elitist/un-tr00/too young to comment/too old to understand/gay, etc, etc... and then a huge bitching contest starts until the original topic of the thread is lost in pointless debates and meaningless insults.

It's all rather depressing for you lot, and an absolute nightmare for me since I get all the emails asking for posts to be deleted and users to be banned! You people don't know what you put me through! Aaaargh! *punches monitor*

Ahem... anyway... I've no idea whether In Flames will be at Ozzfest 2003. In fact, to the best of my knowledge, no-one's really sure whether there will be an Ozzfest 2003 at all, partly due to the monumental organisational fiasco at last year's event, partly due to Metallica being rumoured to headline at Reading... guess Sharon doesn't like her limelight being stolen...

Ozzfest should stop now. It's getting way too mainstream and all the kiddie mosher kerrang! readers are coming to it, it's blatant that it's just done for some extra cash in sharon's pocket now. Ive been to 2001 and 2002. 2001 to put it simply was fucking awful, well other than sabbath, tool and black label society. 2002 was slightly better in the sense that it had slayer, ozzy, black label society and tool, but still, it was rather crap. They just seem to have one or two, mabye three proper good metal bands, and the rest are just people trying to boost their careers and attract the kiddies.

Lameness

I hope in flames aren't on ozzfest, i hope ozzfest never happens again...

 100% true, damn just look at the Most Overrated band/singer thread (in the old school forum) and you'll see a prime example of that

Agreed.,.although i dont listen to them much..,.,.but i recall some precise sweeps on track #6 of RtR.

eh.,.,.it really wouldn't get on my nerves if they even went to Ozzfest.,,.maybe some of the younger generation guitarists will get inspired by technical music for once.

But thats just my opinion.

their latest album is not as good as previous ones, but it still fucking perfect,

That's not what he was saying. Don't assume someone means anyone when they're generalizing. You know how much of a pain in the ass it is to always have to be deadly specific about everything. All he meant was that a lot of people who say the new In Flames sucks, only say it because they think it will make them seem more aggressive, like the new stuff isn't heavy enough for them. That's where the 'elite' part falls into place.

I don't dislike RtR because it's not aggressive enough ...it's pretty aggressive ...however i do dislike it compared to their other albums because of the loss of guitar melodies, severe lack of solos, the song "Transparent" and because the majority of the clean vocals were filtered and added with effects till it sounded like crap. I like a few of the songs of RtR but for the most part it's very dissapointing. Also, I hardly care about the elitism bullshit ...most people that act like that are morons anyhow.
