Omen - battle cry

Those are some damn nice bands.

I agree, there isn't such a thing that I have found to be a perfect album. The two closest that come to mind right now are:

Dream Theater - 'Images & Words'
Ulver - 'Kveldssanger'

DT's 1991 release is just a classic for me, not only in the area of Prog, but in Music as a whole. A little cheesy indeed, but I love it, and believe it's far better than their follow-up 'Awake' even though that is a great album also.

"Prowler In The Yard" by Pig Destroyer
"None So Vile" by Cryptopsy
"Trancedence Into The Peripheral" by diSEMBOWELMENT
"Dopethrone" by Electric Wizard
"In The Nightside Eclipse" by Emperor
"Antithesis Of Light" by Evoken
"Leading Vision" by Gorod
"Wish You Were Here" by Pink Floyd
"Ink Complete" by Spastic Ink

That is all according to my rate your music page.

In no particular order, my totally perfect albums are:

Motorhead - No sleep 'til Hammersmith/Bastards
Iron Maiden - Powerslave/Live after Death
Metallica - Master of Puppets
Megadeth - Peace Sells/Rust in Peace
Sabbat - History of a time to come
Slayer - Hell Awaits/Reign in Blood
Judas Priest - British Steel/Screaming for Vengeance/Painkiller
Black Sabbath - Masters of Reality
Rainbow - Rising
Mastodon - Leviathan/Blood Mountain
Pride & Glory
Lamb of God - Sacrament
:kickass:

Katatonia - Brave Murder Day/For Funerals To Come
My Dying Bride - Turn Loose The Swans
Cannibal Corpse - The Bleeding
Immortal - Battles In The North, Pure Holocaust
Enslaved - Mardraum
Samael - Passage, Ceremony Of Opposites
Morbid Angel - Altars Of Madness, Domination
Type O Negative - Bloody Kisses
Tiamat - Wildhoney
Ocean Machine - Biomech
Strapping Young Lad - City (except Room 429.. really don't like that track)

You know what.. everything I've listed above I give 10 out of 10... but for truly faultless albums, taking EVERYTHING into account, it'd just be:

Katatonia - Brave Murder Day/For Funerals To Come
Ocean Machine - Biomech

Not a fucking speck or flat spot on either of these 2, start to finish.

Yeah Biomech is just so...gutwrenching.... if you're not in the right frame of mind, it just gets to me. Such an intense, emotional rollercoaster ride!

Albums that blew my mind:

Arcturus-Aspera Hiems Symfonia
Bathory-Hammerheart
Bathory-Under the Sign of the Black Mark
Burzum-Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Burzum-Filosofem
Burzum-Det Som Engang Var
Celtic Frost-To Mega Therion
Mayhem-De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas
Mayhem-Deathcrush
Mercyful Fate-Don't Break the Oath
Venom-Black Metal

To my list I have to add Testament - The Formation of Damnation:kickass:

Not only is it the best Testament album of all time (FACT!), I believe this is up there with the best thrash albums ever.

All the band members are on top form, Alex Skolnick's lead playing is just inspired, Chuck Billy continues to demonstrate his awesome range, and Paul Bostaph is amazing as ever on the drums (will he make another record with Testament, or does he want to make one record with all the original thrash bands? Metallica have been crying out for a decent drummer for the last 25 years!).

Andy Sneap (ex Sabbat guitar) has produced an excellent sound on this album, and the songs are well crafted. Testament have thrown down one hell of a gauntlet with this album, with no hype at all. The real question is, are Metallica going to pick it up?
