I'm just wondering what everyone's favorite metal subgenre is. Also, what is your current playlist? From my name, you can obviously tell that my favorite subgenre is black metal and I feel that Burzum is the most incredible band to have ever existed.
My playlist is as follows:
Burzum: Hvis Lyset Tar Oss
Burzum: Filosofem
Burzum: Ragnarok (A New Beginning)
Kult ov Azazel: Triumph of Fire
Emperor: Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Mayhem: Live in Leipzig
Darkthrone: Preparing for War
Katatonia: Last Fair Deal Gone Down
Carcass: Symphonies of Sickness

Recently I've been listening to almost nothing but an unsigned band from Germany called mystica solitudinis, who are (IMO) mind-blowing. They cite influences such as Anathema, Opeth, The Doors, tho I tend to think they're more like Anathema but with more agression...

There'll be an interview with them on UltimateMetal.com shortly, along with some sounds (hopefully).

Apart from that, anything from Iron Maiden to Opeth, from Anathema & Katatonia to Anthrax - anything, really :)

Hi, BurzumBeast!
my playlist contains more doom music then any other one.
My albumlist:
EverEve "Stormbirds"
Anathema "Pentecost III" & "The Silent Enigma"
Arcturus "La Masquerade Infernale"
Lacrimosa "Elodia"
Katatonia "Brave Murder Day"
Katatonia "Discouraged Ones"
Death "Sounds of Perseverance"
Paradise Lost 'Icon"
My Dying Bride "Symphonaire Infernus Et Spera Empirium"
My Dying Bride "Turn Loose The Swans"
... I can go on forever. My favorite subgenre is old doom like
Anathema"The Silent Enigma". Shit, I'm real DoomMetal Junkie!
I like early Burzum for his depression, especially "Lost Wisdom".
I can't get any photos or music of early Arcturus, advise anything!
greetings, Anthony Arcturus:)
