Your Favorites (Why?)

Okay...

The Edge Of Forever- "Dawn breaks the ground my love and with it you fade away-ay...Close your eyes and try to remember discordant lullabies of days gone byyyy..."- I just love to sing along with that part.

A Winter's Dream(1&2)- ALL the vocal work. Sublime bliss.

Sea Of Lies- "Losing faith in who I am, never changing just rearranging my iife again." This passage clinched Symphony X as MY band.

The Accolade- All the vocals. A Super stellar song indeed.

Pharaoh- The middle section, from "Mystic gods of the stars" to "the mighty Pharaoh lives again!!! Fucking catharic as hell.

Divine Wings- The Prophet's Cry & Paradise Regained. You know what I'm talkin' about. Unbelievable vocal melody.

Candlelight Fantasia - Very deeply personal song to me. All vocals. I especially love "I can't escape this captive misery.....Play the VIOLENT strings of my symphony."

The Relic- "Come with me and I'll make all your wishes come true..." I love singing that.

Communion And tHe Oracle - All the vocals. I really love to sing along with this one, especially the end.

Rediscovery 2 - The whole middle part gives me the fuzzy-wuzzies.:)

Wicked- "Come with me, love eternally, forever miiine." Gives me the shivers.

The Odyssey - Probably one of my top 3 favorite songs to sing along to of all time. Especially Pts. 2 & 4.

Is that enough?

.This is an extremely hard question, and I don't think it's possible to be answered fully and completely accurate, but I'll do my best. Every song is fucking amazing, but here are a few that just shine in my head.

Evolution - This was probably the very first song I ever heard by Symphony X, when I saw them live a while back. Right then I just got that rush you get when you listen to some songs, that strange and beautiful feeling of flying... Even when I wasn't familiar with it in the slightest bit. Now that I have "V" and I listen to it with "Prelude" it makes me love it even more, and no matter the amount I listen to it, it remains just as strong. Just as Skitz said - "Everything about this song is perfect."

The Odyssey - This song is just so amazing in every way. Music, lyrics, sound, and feeling. (Of course there are other things, but I don't know if they need to be mentioned.) It's the biggest release for me, the best rest for me, the strongest hype for me, and a tremendous inspiration for me. INCREDIBLE song. They are experts.

The Edge Of Forever - This is another one that just sharpens my senses, clutches my heart, and puts tears in my eyes. Beautiful song.

Sea Of Lies - This just gets me moving, and is one of the funnest of all songs to sing along to. A song to listen to if you really want to feel good. And I can usually rely on it regardless of my situation. That applies to alot of other Symphony X songs, as well - "King Of Terrors", "Of Sins And Shadows", "Smoke And Mirrors", and "Egypt" to name very few.

Inferno (Unleash The Fire - This song's meaning just hold so much to me, and the music makes up who I am.

Too much choice! :loco:

The Divine Wings of Tragedy -- The choir intro in itself is amazing, but the totally mindblowing part is "Standing on the edge of Paradise...". The simple but heavy guitar riffs, even heavier drum work and Allen's growling, screaming vocals just prickle the hairs on the back of my neck. And when the choir begins chanting: "E-ter-nal-is-the-pain..." - Ecstatic!

The Accolade II -- The first part was good, but this one is better. The vocals, the mood and especially the whole story - how it fits right into the music is so great. "On the field, with sword and shield amidst the din of dying mens wails." The lines instantly conjure up an image of great battles, and men living and dying for their honor. :)

The Eyes of Medusa -- From the beginning to the end, this one is just the heaviest thing I've ever heard. (Okay, not including the classical-style venture in the middle. ) I just love the guitars and the drum-guitar riff in the second part of the verse is just übercool.

Like everyone else, I could go on and on about all the great things about all the songs, but I think these three are the ones that stand out the most. (And are the first to come to mind when I'm working up a playlist. :) )

Rediscovery Pt. 2 is my feel good SX song. Its kind of hard to describe, but Russ's laid back, mellow melodies make me feel all warm and fuzzy  :zombie:

This is way too hard
Sea of Lies-crazy riff, even crazier solo
Church of the Machine-awesome song, great chorus, insane guitar solo
Out of the Ashes-shred fest
Divine Wings of Tragedy-epic masterpiece #1
Odyssey-epic masterpiece #2
Unleash the Fire - shred fest
Incantations - I like the stop and go feel..insane solo
Accolade I and II - epic #3/4
Evolution - light speed riff and awesome drumming
and finally Dressed to Kill - wicked solo, awesome riff

.Haha, I know exactly what you are saying. That's definetely another one of my 'feel good' songs, too. I think it's impossible to name them all.

Dammit, it's really hard to pick ones that you won't change after a week!

The Edge Of Forever - Although this song kinda looks like it had been taken together not really well the solos and yeah... the chorus is FUCKING AMAZING!

Egypt - Love the chorus, why almost none of you mentioned that song dammit!

On the Breath of Poseidon [live] - Romeo does one of his best works there. And needless to say it slays the studio version.

Whispers - Really touches my heart.
The solos are amazing there... but... I can't think of a SymX soung with lousy solos... so... they go from excellent to amazing to the best solos humanly possible until they reach M.R. status.
