Your latest G.A.S. purchases

Yeah... because fuck the guys on the other side of the window. They are the enemy anyway.

You obviously don't know how some musicians will use any excuse to blame their lack of skills on. Don't give them a single half valid reason to whine, that's my advice.

^ excellent choice. Ive got that same cab. Sounds very very good. Prefer it much over my marshall 1960 4x12

Very heavy though!

I hope so! I'm going to A/B this against my 1960DM....of which I will still be selling. Just after a different flavour...couldn't get a Mesa 4x12 for the life of me and that 2x12 is nearly new at a good price so...*shrug*

I'll do some proper clips since it's really hard to find any mic'd/metal tones from that cab. Whack it on my new great gramma and go!

We'll at least ill be in the Mesa ballpark...

Kickass, keen to hear what you get out of that!
Not a huge fan of the 1960DM overall, your clips were the only one with that cab that I liked.

Thought about getting a 2x12 instead of a 4x12 mesa myself too, altho a new cab is quite far on the horizon for now...never too early to start GASing ;D

Hope the auralex helps with your low end!

Haha well hopefully ill get some shit together that will put your GAS through the roof!....because im a top twat ;)

The DM's a sweet cab but it's by no mean's an "easy" cab IMO...it needs to be handled properly! But when you get it, you can get some sick tones from it

I'm interested to hear the results of this one. This has 2 of the older 70w V30's rather than the newer 60's...not sure if that makes a huge difference but yeah.

I have this same 2x12 as well. I really like it, although I find having the Mesa logo smack dab in the middle sucks when playing with different mic positions. Get your screwdriver ready. :)

The "sweet spot" for me on my specific cab is actually right at the bottom left-hand corner of the mesa logo/plate; which ends up being right on the edge of the dust-cap and cone pretty much. Straight on, about 1/4" away from the cloth. I actually find that the mesa plate pushes some of that low-end into the mic keeping it right at the edge giving it some weight. I don't have a treated room I'm mic'ing the amp in, and have lots of neighbors, so I can't turn up my 5150 past 1, so this position at that volume level works fine for me. And I love how well this cab responds to bass and resonance... it definitely growls!

Will give that a shot, cheers dude! I love the growls, so this comment pleases me!

My ears hurt like hell after 30 minutes wearing mine. I much prefer the extreme iso's. They sound equally bad but don't squash the ears like pancakes.

Oh man, they just arrived today and I see what you mean. Shits are not that comfortable :(.

I'm going to try to get them to relax a little by stretching them over something to hole them open for a while. Things sqeese your head like crazy.

I don't know whether the set I used were defective, but I literally could not drive the Vic Firths loud enough to hear the drums properly over the bleed in the room. The amps were redlining like crazy. I swapped them out for the Extreme Isos and everything was fine - isolation improved a ton, and they didn't need to be driven nearly as hard.

Coming by later today:
