Your live ND Experiences

1. Alehorn of Power II Fest - Double Door, 2007

... I remember another local musician shoving everyone around trying to mosh during The Novella Reservoir, which I found both amusing and annoying.

Dan from Eden's Fall?

He's the only other guy in Chicago I know who is as geeked as I am about seeing ND enough to do something like that!

:kickass: Something I would do for sure... but I wasn't at that show :( Must have been Ray!

1) Wheaton Grand Theater - Summer 2005
2) JJ Kelley's - Late Summer 2005
3) LOT 4 - December 2006
4) Pearl Room - Chicago Powerfest 2007
5) Pearl Room - Fall 2008

Holy crap! This looks almost like my own list. Switch your #1 for my #1, which would be their 2004 Powerfest appearance at JJ Kelleys, and our lists are the same! We rock :headbang:

But hey, I saw them for the first time before you, nyah nyah :p

Ken

Funny.. almost my exact list too! :headbang: No wonder I keep running into you two guys!

I didn't catch them most recently at the Pearl Room in 2008 or (ironically) at Powerfest 2004. Even though my band played that fest, it was the day my son was born and Ray's brother Rob filled in on bass.

Seems like I've seen them more than 4 times, but every time they totally rocked! Must have just been that I've watched the DVD like 100 times! :worship: I was planning to go to Milwaukee in January.. but I'll just have to wait a little longer.

None yet, hopefully next year?!

Of my top 5 favorite bands I've only got 2 left to see, ND and Katatonia. You guys should tour together :D

You know, two bands I have been getting more into this year are Nightwish and Kamelot.
Now I know a majority of you will say, "Crap poppy power metal" or whatever.

If you listen closely to these two bands though, there is a darkness to their poppiness that I think would fit well on a bill with Novembers Doom.

I am always a sucker for live lineups that at first make people scratch their heads, but then prove to work.

the only Nightwish album I like is Angels Fall First

It's weird. I really like ONCE, though most NW die-hards dislike it.
From the older ones, I think I like Wishmaster best.

Anyhow, I think it would be cool to see how ND would do on a bill with a band, like NW, who play darker music, but not in the death or doom vein.

Dude I'd love to be on a tour with Nightwish, but I like Tarja better than this new girl they got. And you are right about NW being a dark "poppy power metal band". That band has a lot of killer stuff man, I really really like that Once album also.

There are no openers yet for Tarja at House of Blues.
Could be a good fit! Think about it.....

:heh:

I have seen that pic a lot over the years.
Never saw it with the NW logo blurred out of the pic.

Paul - You can have Tarja.
I would take Simone from Epica over her ANY day.
