summoning - dol guldur

are my personal faves in no particular order. cba narrowing it down more than that.

of course if we're counting ungodly stuff like 'morbid tales', 'don't break the oath', 'metal from hell' etc, then the list is gonna look a bit different.

lol Arcane Sun is in no way black metal.

Glad someone else saw that.

Anyway, this isn't easy. Here's an initial attempt:

Emperor- Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk
Primordial- Storm Before Calm (this album has slowly worked its way up my list; fantastic)
Black Lotus- Harvest of Seasons (I know many people will flame this because it's too new and "gay" to be in someone's top ten; but, in my opinion, it's one of the best contemporary black/folk/"ecological" albums)
Borknagar- The Olden Domain
Burzum- Hvis Lyset Tar Oss (even if only for "Det Som En Gang Var," which is brilliant and makes the rest of the record amazing)
Enslaved- Eld
Summoning- Let Mortal Heroes Sing Your Fame
Ulver- Bergtatt
Nokturnal Mortum- Weltanschauung
In the Woods...- Heart of the Ages

Honorable mentions:
Aeternus- ...And So the Night Became
Bornholm- March for Glory and Revenge
Immortal- At the Heart of Winter
Negura Bunget- 'n Crugu Bradului
Sear Bliss- Glory and Perdition
Windir- 1184
Hellveto- Stos

I could go on and on.

Well, it's more from the fact that I've known Tom for a few years now and I know TWWTG has fallen out of favor with him and I was scared (cowering in a corner-level, man) that the same thing would befall SMRC. BUT ALAS 'TWAS NOT SO.

glad to see I'm not the only one who enjoys silencer here :erk:

Most people don't like them just for their vocals. I used to be the same way, but after listening to them a little more, they grew on me tremendously. Now I wouldn't have them any other way.
