ok, this is kinda following on from suicide rebellion's recent thread. what are your top 5 punk albums ever? that is if any of you guys like punk?

mine would have to be

Dead Kennedys- fresh fruit for rotting vegetables
The Clash- the clash
Offspring- Ignition
Rancid- ...And out come the wolves
Sex pistols- never mind the bollocks

I'm still expanding on my punk collection so i'[m sure they will change in time- what do you guys reckon?

Reactions: Sonic Titan
1) Misfits boxset
2) Samhain boxset

I only have a top 2, but they are several CDs each. :D

Blink 182 & Not By Choice  Now someone is gonna flame me thinking I'm serious. :)

Not hugely into punk, but I do like songs from these bands:
Minor Threat
Sex Pistols
Dayglo Abortions
Exploited

Minor Threat - Complete Discography
Dead Kennedys - Fresh Fruit For Rotting Vegetables
Bad Religion - How Could Hell Be ANy Worse?
Offspring - s/t

i don't own that many punk cd's.

I have no list but here is 5 really good punk albums:

sex pistols- nevermind the bullocks
rhcp- mothers milk(yes, this is a punk album)
ebba grön- greatest hits 1978-1982
green day- international superhits (greatest hits)
rhcp- self titled (they have done some punk albums... they where a punk hybrid from 1984- 1991 I think...)

SEX PISTOLS - Nevermind Bullocks
BUZZCOCKS - Operators Manual
MISFITS - Collection
CLASH - The Clash (1st album)
DOA - Bloodied but Unbowed

If you want a 1990's punk CD get Rancid or Penneywise, not Greenday, Blink 182 etc.

Punk is actually one of the only genres that existed before the 80's that I don't listen to (polka & gregorian chants/church music being the others, although the gregorian chant like stuff in Type O Negative is cool. I don't have much in the world genre either though.), but I like The Hellacopters if they categorize. I usually call them punky trucker rock though. I have "Payin' the dues", "Grande rock" & "Supershitty to the max" by them and I like "Payin' the dues" best. Some other decent punk songs IMO are "I wanna be sedated" by The Ramones & "Rock the Kasbah" by The Clash (although I don't see much punk in that song & the rest of their stuff actually).
